Now that the UZ engine is so old, are there any replacement ECUs out there? Or is it so locked down that that you can’t even replace the ECU outright?
Wow. I never knew that. I’d like to know why they regressed on the transmission.
That’s beautiful. Never heard that one before.
Absolutely correct. But overall package wasn’t competitive.
Finally someone throws it in. Can’t believe it took this long!
Ahh.
I’m not following you. Please elaborate.
Exactly. Legend and not reality.
And old Hyundai won’t be much better.
If the odds were extremely good. Yes. A regular 10% return over a long period of time is phenomenal. I’m reminded about that Russ Hanneman line...
My guess is that they wanted to take the financial liability off their books. They ended up with this PR mess instead.
And I’m telling you you’re looking at it too myopically. In the wider lens of motorsports, it was an interesting car, but not noteworthy.
The 1JZ is about 50 pounds lighter. Even if the block is the same, there are many things that still make it lighter. That’s a big deal for all the nose heavy 90s Toyotas. They weren’t pushing the engine as far back as possible. They put it in some pretty badass 90s Toyota sedans though. That’s more street cred to me…
A used M3?
They were popular, but hardly existed. They did not exist the way the FnF enshrines it today. Fixing them up at the time made them Ferrari expensive.
I think Ford’s ownership structure also means that they don’t have to answer to wall street the way say GM does.
It’s a good thing Ford doesn’t do a lot of business in Japan. Just make sure he doesn’t transit in Narita when going back and forth from the region.
The Emperor’s Century.
That was Kia’s first car.
