This has been an issue for the past year or two. Jalopnik has been playing catch up. The autopian posts an Alanis video, then Jalopnik does. Even though Alanis hasn’t done any work for Jalopnik in a long time while she actively supports the Autopian.

Didn’t watch the entire thing, but it feels like this has been coming for a LONG time. I don’t think this is the first time Billy has been confronted by a drunk chief and he had enough.

Police unions are usually very cozy with prosecutors, and major donors to their political campaigns. No charges would ever be filed. He could have tried arresting the chief with probable cause of public intoxication (assuming the other cops don’t stop him) but there’s essentially a 0% chance a prosecutor would…

Dude should’ve fully committed when he threw the Chief on the hood and arrested him on the spot for public intoxication and interfering with every aspect of what the police were trying to do there. It’s a little more difficult for the union to brush actual charges under the rug.
