Don’t forget well deserved.

The most glaring problem is cost. The nearly $53 million this cost the government could have gone into actual transportation infrastructure. Secondly, anyone who has to use a mobility device but isn’t ambulatory enough to stow it in the trunk of a Model Y is screwed. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of accommodations

The Vegas Hypeloop is peak Gadget Bahn,  as evidenced by the colored lights and probably ruinously high cost per passenger mile.

Wow, I was just thinking, “Well, if it means I don’t have to take a cab from the airport, maybe there’s actually some value here”. Oh, well....

The Green line in LA gets ever so close to LAX then makes an abrupt left to Redondo Beach.  Same reason... cab companies and airport shuttle services.  Lame.

There already is one. And the LVCC has a stop. People were pissed when it was first built that it didn’t go to the airport. That was done to appease the cab companies. It was stupid that it didn’t go to the airport then and is still stupid now since it is only on the east side of The Strip. And somehow it is still

The overall dumbness is one thing. Dumb happens, but this right here:

Not to mention advertising spaces lining the walls, all extolling the evils of wokeness and the brilliance of Chairman Musk,

He probably confused the ‘planned routes’ in the propaganda literature, with the actual bits that have actually been built.

It would be really nice and cheap except that the $53 million just covers the cost of the less-than-two-miles portion of the loop that is around the convention center itself.

What if you could link several together and only need one driver?

Ah, I was going off of the “In total there are 19 miles of tunnels” bit from the article. And being something from Musko, I figured they were just using regular old TBMs and calling it an “innovation” for no reason.

What advantages does this present over a tram system in the tunnels?

And maybe put those cars on rails.

So how did the author get the length of the loop so wrong?

So what your saying is...a thing with multiple cars, that is pulled by some sort of “engine” to simplify it. Hey you could make it electric so you only have to worry about O2 not C02. Heck, you could centralize your electic supply and just have the engine use a probe to touch an electric line so you don’t have to

OOooo... Wait, linked cars that run together and get power from a rail?? Oh right, it’s like a train. Only worse.

It isn’t 19 miles, it’s 1.7 miles. It doesn’t go to the airport, it will never go to the airport for the same reasons the monorail wasn’t allowed to connect to the airport, and that at least had some logic too it.
