I expect better than this (or at least some commentary on it) from The Root.

Gee if only there was some hack to get some of that.

So her tips are generational wealth and nepotism. Yeah...

Stop acting like her not paying a mortgage is some amazing life hack. Her roommate pays the difference between her mortgage payment and what her tenant pays.

While I appreciate the offer to voluntarily resign with a small bonus versus a mandatory layoff, I agree this is 100% about propping up the stock price by following other major industries who are cutting expenses by eliminating highly paid employees.

The buyouts are being offered to salaried workers in the U.S. who’ve been with the company for five years or more, as well as to global executives with two or more years at the company....If salaried workers in the U.S. opt to take GM up on the offer, they will receive one month’s pay for each year they’ve worked at

Even the owner can remotely set the speed limit to 50 mph, see it live on a map, and do numerous other trolling things to the thieves such as turning the climate control to 90 degrees and blasting children’s music

Again, as the above commenter said, the operator probably couldn’t see the info without an active subscription. There’s probably a special department that they’re supposed to transfer people to in cases of law enforcement requests, and that didn’t happen. Now whether that was because the operator didn’t follow

Why wouldn’t you help find a missing kid if you could?

Fun fact: high heels were originally invented for men so they could prevent their feet from slipping out of the stirrups when they rode horses.

No, it was designed to be temporary and then was made permanent and the actual upkeep costs were closer to 12million over the term of the contract. I know all this because I read the article.

You know what else looks good? A sky full of undiminished stars.

I mean, if the bridge is safe enough without the lights, why are we wasting energy on lights?  Nighttime’s bright enough as it is and light pollution is a real thing.

For those in the showroom? Totally believable. The building is locked, after all. Or, you know, should have been.

As a former lot attendant, I’m not shocked that they were leaving keys in cars. It’s stupid, but it’s common. Sales staff would bitch at me when I locked keys away because I guess they’re too lazy to walk to the key box and retrieve them. They just leave them over the sun visor or even just in a cup holder sometimes.

Outside of say, a 10-mile stretch of interstate, is a 700hp Dodge that much quicker for making a getaway than a 300hp Camry? I’m pretty sure I know which one will end up around a tree first in the hands of Joe-driver.

Greg doesn’t live anywhere nice. Greg lives in a shitty house, likely that he inherited, works a job he hates, if he has a job at all, and is miserable and unloved. Greg hates Black people because he hates himself, and he hates himself because he’s a shitty, uncurious, miserable little bigot.

Greg isn’t interested in facts. Facts aren’t exciting. Greg is bored.
