Robbie, awesome add-on tip. Thanks!!
In 2004 I made a casemod with a phone that looked like the "period motif" phone they showed! I found it in an antique shop at Orange Circle in the city of Orange, CA. I think I paid $20 for it. I wired up the earpiece and mouthpiece to be part of the computer. When hung up, the audio played through the front speakers.…
Ok, so they see your junk.
i had the view settings problem too, so i changed my bookmark point to blog.gawkersite.com
Nice find! I once bought a retro looking corduroy jacket for $2 at the thrift store and when I got home, discovered a $5 bill in one of the pockets. Top that :)
Does anyone else have trouble loading the blog.whatever-gawker-site.com pages in Chrome? I have to force a refresh a few times before the site actually loads for me. Otherwise it's just a blank white page. I have flashblock and Adblock enabled.
When our smoke detectors go off, you can press that test button to silence it. When we did some serious stir fry in our old apartment the smoke detector was guaranteed to go off since our range hood was so sorry. That's when I discovered the "Test" button is also the YES-I-KNOW-THERE-IS-SMOKE-BUT-STFU-THX. :)
Are these easy to install yourself? The fart fan in our downstairs half bath is incredibly loud. You can hear and feel it upstairs. I'm wondering whether to hire a handyman or just DIY it...
Thanks tim, Good suggestions and I will be working on the garage this Saturday.
Thanks for the link and video! Will try this on Saturday
Thanks, I'll stop by next week and see what options I have. And yes, a net zero calorie gain works for me, too.
To exercise, I'm going to take up using my rollerblades to get from one section of town to another. Will be travelling via the canal/bike/run path that cuts through town. When I arrive, I want to switch to sandals so I can walk into restaurants to get a quick bite to eat before I rollerblade back. I've seen people use…
My Garage door is squeaky/screechy. It's definitely not the opener/motor. Could it be from the rails or the springs? I know I'm not supposed to use WD40 to lubricate things. What do I use instead? And where should I apply it?
I, too, had your very same idea when we were expecting our first born. That was 3 years ago and I never did get around to buying the ~$30 wireless headphones I was considering off [geeks.com] .... We found that we'd rather sleep when the baby was asleep... During the day we'd just use normal daytime voices when baby…
Funny you should mention this. I just completed my "audio experience upgrade" today. I already had a USB DAC, but had been using my 2002 iPod ear buds on them. They sounded ok, but a friend brought in her Dre. Beats Studios and I was blown away. In my search for something cheaper, I ended up ebaying a pair of Klipsch…
Warning: Gross story ahead...
Thanks Gizmodo; great post. Agree mostly. We have an iPad 1 that the kid uses. It was my birthday present when it first came out. Too bad I automatically became last in the pecking order once the wife and kid figured out it they like it. Would I get the new one? Maybe, have to see it in person. But my initial…
I may be jinxing myself by saying this, but I surprisingly don't have any issues. I started multi-hour-marathon computing back in the early 90's with Wolfenstein 3D. Then upgraded to DOOM, then Quake. By the time I reached university, we had Ethernet in the dorms and the gaming marathons only got longer :) Now I'm…
Although, your door handle tip... I don't bother with the paper towel, since you just wiped it down for me. I think 8 out of 10 people in my office use the paper towel... so it's just me and the other guy going commando on the door handle.
