Windows Explorer in Win7 bugs the hell out of me. Double-clicking on a folder in the left pane causes that pane to scroll the double-clicked item all the way down. why. WHY!?

@theDevilsDue: thanks! new to win7 and didn't know this.
Using the /s option will also include the sub directories.
@Prairie Moon: congrats on making the tips box!
Don't forget about google apps standard edition. They'll not only host a simple google sites website for you, but also your own domain's email too. You just need to buy your own domain name through godaddy or whoever and run though the setup. Google apps standard edition is free.
@TheFu: it seems that, in this day and age, disabling javascript on websites pretty much disables all functionality on a page. I disable flash because I hate the flashy (sorry) animations and ads, but javascript seems to be an absolute must.
both my wife and i owned our cars before we met. i drove a 2003 camry and my wife's was a 2000 corolla (kind of a beater). now that we have a daughter, i often leave the "bigger" camry for her and drive the corolla to work. On my way to work, I've begun to notice our corolla is one of the older cars on the road (south…
@hepatace: I don't see not being centrally managed a big issue. It runs its own definition updates like windows does, and if there is a problem, the system tray icon changes to alert the user. Also, once you have WHS installed on the network and the WHS client installed on each machine, each WHS client will report…
@hepatace: Have you considered Microsoft Security Essentials? I believe you can just install it on each individual computer. As long as your computers are legally licensed, I don't see why you couldn't use MSE on them too. Another thing, I know you didn't ask, but you might consider installing a Windows Home Server…
@Ava Glasgow: I'm not trying to be snarky here... I use Outlook for my email and just use the tasks there.
@zombies.like.lattes.too: learn to leave work at the office, both mentally and physically. When the recess bell rings, it's time to unpause your life and not look back. Getting your after work life in order will bring you peace!
@GreasyPig: I was like that, but I made the plunge head first when I paid full price for the LogMeIn Ignition app. I think I paid $24.99 for it. No cheap 99 cent apps for me, no sir. I went the distance. And btw, it was money well spent. The app is written nicely and performs very well over 3G.
@tc4001: Hey, chuck it my way! Ok, but seriously, a couple of things you could try is to jailbreak it. Also try with a plain old WinXP computer. I've had trouble with my Win7 64bit desktop and itunes. You can even take it to an apple store and ask them to help you there.
@anechoic: that's a great suggestion. really, it is! best suggestion i've ever heard. pure wisdom.
for Middle Click: if what you guys are doing for middle click is to open links in new tabs and close a tab, ctrl-leftclick also opens a link in a new tab. Unfortunately, to quickly close an unfocused tab, ctrl-leftclick won't work. For those cases, you'll have to aim for the "x" or in IE, click the tab then click the…
This is kind a little off topic but.... is there such thing as a quiet hair dryer? Any make models you can recommend?
@dchall8: NICE!
Maybe not _THE_ proudest DIY moment, but it's up there: when my iPhone paper clip stand was featured here on Lifehacker
