I also applaud this research and hope something good comes of it. But at the very best, we will get a solution to a problem of our own making, and a far from ideal solution, at that. Unless you think medicating ourselves out of treatable conditions is just fine, in which case you better load up on this miracle pill,

So... is science telling me that I am a unique and beautiful snowflake?

Wow- that is such a great formulation of the law.

I seem to remember that as well.

I not only have a living will, but have asked my mother and GF to do whatever they can without endangering themselves to decisively end me.

I really don't see much negative shaming going on here. Pointing out that we shouldn't need drugs to accomplish what should merely require taking care of ourselves like responsible adults isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing- a reality check.

AWESOME.

For me, the first week is hardest, and by the end I've set new and better patterns... except that the hardest hardest bit is not letting he habits drift into regression over the next nine months or so. I keep having cycles of this, though now I've gotten the hang of it I don't gain much more than 5 pounds before

Why not just spend, say, 30M a film and let one out of three be crazybananas stuff that stands some kind of chance of becoming a blowout hit that makes gobs of money.

No.

I'd like to make a pitch for why this film isn't better known and loved by all:

As long as she's hot.

No, I can't name any 16-22yo notable Japanese actors. But I have no doubt that there are a dozen great Japanese performers of that age in Hollywood.

And then they can compact it, change what they want.

Yes. That was a thin and lame excuse. By it's logic Hellboy, X-Men, and Thor shouldn't have worked. The average moviegoer had no idea about those properties and what to expect from them.

I can't imagine that they really have the budget to fulfill what I imagined from the book.

Male? O noes! Like most of us on io9- though the ratio is better than other sci-fi sites. Doesn't matter if your junk (and stubble) disqualifies you from my particular affections, it's still a cool feature and I'm sure appeals to those who do like teh mans.

Not disrespectful to fashion, but actually disrespectful to the characters if presented "poorly" within this different context. The medium of fashion illustration has it's conventions, and presenting the characters against those conventions must be purposeful if you do it- otherwise they're just crappy fashion

Oh, wow. Well, clearly the guy rocks.

Yeah, and there really wasn't much actual design in his stuff- they were just drawings of X-chicks in less clothing.
