I remember Terri Hatcher as really good, but haven't seen it since it aired, so I'm wary of endorsing her.

I would like a relative unknown. It might be interesting to get an MMA fighter who can act- some of them are gorgeous. I have contributed any suggestions on the boards in the past, but since they're all pretty unknown I can't recall the names, so here's one of several discussions I've been in on the subject:
Yes. Maybe we should just stop looking so closely.
Not sold on Amy Adams.
Judging by the handlebars, Superman rides a fixy.
Yes, but he's the most engaging protagonist of that film. I like Longstalker's first general idea above, though I don't think the entirely different movies she proposes would necessarily be any better than the prequels because most of their problems are in execution, not broad strokes.
They can still be heroic tragedy, it would just be seen as witnessed by Obi-Wan, who was closer to the whole tale than anyone else.
I think that in Lucas's head, what he established in the originals was a bankable cast of characters- almost none of whom he could use again.
IF she gets cast, I will be rooting for her to succeed, same as I did with Ryan Reynolds, same as I am with Amy Adams.
Yes, but Naboo has no princess- it's not hereditary.
It shows how poor Lucas's imagination has gotten that he never considered anything would happen in between.
I live in horror.
Oh, YES.
Exactly- it seem like the rebels are already courting disaster, almost begging Vader to come after Luke. Do they want to tempt fate further?
OK- that works. Bring Liam in for the re-shoots.
Good points...
I'd really rather just remove the droids entirely from the prequels. Or at least Threepio, as Artoo seems to actually be irretrievably wound into the plot threads.
Huh. I thought it was pretty clear that Qui-Gon was the protagonist, the guy whose adventures we were following and who we were supposed to like and empathize with.
Very much agree about Maul- none of the other various baddies were as clear or as threatening. And it would have been great to have the man who killed Qui-Gon hangin otu there as a threat... to be finally defeated by either Qui-Gon's Padawan or by his Padawn's Padawan in the 3rd film. He could have subbed in for…
It could easily be hand-waived by saying that she remembered someone she had been told was her real mother, but wasn't. But they didn't. They had to kill Padme off, and Lucas doesn't remember his own damn scripts or make anyone check for continuity.
