Really that's what people want. It's easy to get in. Easy to see out of. It's comfortable to sit in. It gets decent gas mileage. It doesn't look like an Aztek. It won't break down. And it's affordable.
Wasn't it really ~2x more expensive to fix? The rest of the cost came from things like the taillight that was expensive because of a couple sensors in it.
