The basics are pretty straight forward, it’s a high-end, enthusiast’s photo printer that boasts the use of pigment-based inks to provide better quality prints at home that may be comparable to a photo lab (take away here - that photo lab can be a CVS or Walmart so take that bit of p.r. speak with a grain of salt). It may be old news but I still felt compelled to share.
Just saying hello from NYIAS.
It was foggy today; the gloominess of the day made me not want to get much work done. So I headed out camera in hand. Here's what I came home with.
Last week we got a tease of what Spring will be like. So instead of worrying about another 3 to 5 inches of snow later today, I'll just look at this and think back to about a week ago when the temps at 6pm were still in the 50's.
Was working on a post for s mirrorless camera site. Got side tracked by toys - some days I wonder if I was even meant to get old.
Seriously guys. I even packed my macro lens with me and everything. Instead I got this shot of the Fulton Center Station (New York City). If you're wondering, this is what $1.27B looks like:
This was pre-name reading at the WTC site. The atmosphere is still heavy in lower Manhattan even after 13 years.

So I'm trying my hand at HDR imagery and I really want create dramatic images without the "clown vomit" look that a lot of HDR photography becomes. I'm currently using NIK Software and Lightroom 5; bracket settings: -/+0.3 EV.

Just a rusted work van with a James Baldwin quote on its side.
A recent Gothamist article is making the rounds in my little sphere of NY and it got me wondering, "are restaurants being unreasonable by not serving large parties of children?"
Taken on the walk to my Subway stop. It got progressively worse but the pictures get better.
I definitely respect any Noiser trying to extend the life of their gear. Personally I hate to throw out something that can be used differently. Go green or go home or something.
Still didn't want to chance getting stuck so I left the car under the BQE. Took the opportunity to take a quick snap shot before pulling off.
Okay, maybe that was a bit overly dramatic but since I now have your attention; can anyone here recommend a good iPad app to process RAW files? I was hoping to extend my workflow for small shooting jobs where carrying around my laptop may be unnecessary or where I'm not trying to draw too much attention to what I'm…
