Because building their store will potentially earn them bigger profits down the line. They're trading short term profits for building a long-term revenue model.

I don’t mind Valve having some competition. Steam is fantastic, but it’s also a monopoly and monopolies are bad. That presumes Microsoft doesn’t fuck this up, which is a big if.
Why is Microsoft trying to get people to buy PC ports on their store? I refuse to touch their products if I have to use their digital store. I’ve been burned in the past with GFWL and their marketplace before when it came to DLC.
Because there is nothing to say about this, it doesn't matter. The game will still make a billion dollars.
I don’t really understand what’s going on. I watched the trailer, and thought “Neat, I’d play that.”
Imagine the time they’ve spent at the scoring phase.
Too bad he blew it and initiated the skid himself. He clearly hydroplaned, turned the wheel in a panic, and when he regained traction the car jerked over and into the slide.
I am so worried they are going to mess with the control scheme again and we are going to get a dreaded button-free controller or something. Or maybe even worse it ends up being a VR type thing.
Well its Nintendo they are way behind on any thing for for online features.
Exactly, if people have the code and want to try it out why not?
What’s the concern with the levels having exploits in them? Is there a world leader board/points system or something?
But why? My kids LBP levels have been out there forever. And they have geometry and 2.5 planes to deal with. There a millions off creations in Spore. This is basically Nintendo not wanting to dedicate storage.
It’s fine if Nintendo wants to remove stages from being plucked into the random level algorithm, but why not let people continue to share them with friends via level codes? It makes no sense to me.
I’m not a CoD person in any way, in fact I generally can’t be bothered by any FPS, but I was into that trailer. Maybe welike it for the same reason longtime fans don’t: it’s [seemingly] different.
This is super fascinating because this is the first trailer that’s peaked my interest in Call of Duty. Huh.
Makes me wish physics systems like in Red Faction were more looked into by developers, improved and optimized for use on more than just buildings.
Looks fun, even if the ships are a little too bouncy for my taste.
Ransel sounds pretty similar to the German Ranzen. Usually it's used together with the word for school as Schulranzen. So it mostly stands for bags kids use for school. We also have tons of made for school bags, that where mostly hard and sturdy during my school time but become way more sacky and ergonomic in later…
But there is something... magical in the combination! It fits him totally!
Remember, the Dutch were pretty much the sole foreign contact between Japan and the rest of the world for around 200 years, and had extensive contacts in Japan during the Meji era. It's not too surprising that an antique loan word lingers!
