There were a couple of really good articles on Sleeping Dogs on Gameological 1.0 - a very good interview with the location designers about how they tried to really capture the spirit of the city. I've never been to Hong Kong other than the airport, but I feel like when I do go I'll recognize half the places. (Of

Necrobutcher sucks a fat dick.

Any time someone (correctly) points out how shit Stewart's past 40-ish years have been, I am now contractually obliged to post a link to what he used to be capable of, after having first watched that on the recommendation of someone here.

Lying.

Sleeping Dogs is probably my favourite open-world game (although I haven't played that many). The Arkham-style combat is great, and the city itself is really, really well realized. But if you're hoping for the tough-guy machoness and shitty thriller/action movie tropes to get toned down… you may be disappointed. Uh…

You can pay about 100 bucks for an NTSC to HD converter, I've never tried one, but I'd imagine they're not too bad? Would mean that all those old consoles should be usable.

I'm assuming this isn't possible, but if your PS4 is anywhere near your router, an ethernet cable is always way, way faster than wifi. But Jesus, 50 gb…

But it became something that people liked and quickly became popular both in India and Britain.

That's clearly an exaggeration, but among craft beers I'd say it's a 4:1 or even 5:1 ratio of IPA : everything else at my local supermarkets.

Oh, there's no struggle there.

St Ambroise makes a hell of a lot of good beers, although I generally refuse to touch fruit beers on principle (although Whistler Brewery makes a surprisingly great Grapefruit Ale). They do a fantastic oatmeal stout, among other things. And yeah, Steamwhistle on a hot day is a lovely thing.

Just the fat ones.

Yeah, this is just wrong. There's plenty wrong with Wonder Bread, and a good Pilsner is a thing of beauty.

OK, I’ll check it out. I mean, I REALLY like those albums, so, yeah, might as well see what he’s up to.

Actually quite a lot of black dudes in the states have fairly reddish hair, for fairly obvious and depressing reasons. Even Malcolm X said he was called… uh… something Red in his crook days, because of his hair.

I’m wrong about Earle’s recent output, or about the fact that you’re reading? Or about Wu-Tang? Because, come on, does Washington Square Serenade or whatever really compare to I Feel Alright, or Transcendental Blues, or… any of the older ones?
If so, I’m happy to hear it, and I should, you know, hear it.

Steve Earle, The Revolution Starts Now. It's not even a terrible album, though nowhere near as good as any of the previous 7. But he went from basically being the only artist whose plays per week on my stereo compared to Wu Tang, to being some dude I occasionally put on. And I don't think I've even listened to any of

While I'm a huge fan of Orwell, and that essay in particular, I think that claim is simply false. People have fallen for moronic leaders throughout history, and the kinds of language that Orwell objects to have been around as long as there was writing.

I got into an argument here a few years back with a persistent troll who still occasionally shows up, who was insisting that Orwell was a neoconservative, and was also MI6's agent against Gandhi.

@disqus_Ei29Men5TZ:disqus - a propos of nothing much, I was around FTB back in the day (still am, though it's less of a requirement for me) and your comments were always a pleasure.
