I unironically rock out to all of Heart's hits every time I hear them.

To be fair, a lot of 80-year-old Jewish ladies have the same hair as CC Deville.

Did he happen to have 4 guitars, placed on stands at different places around the stage, including one acoustic one, and went and did a different shitty solo on each one? And then Bobby wassisname the bass player came out later and played the theme from the Pink Panther? Because that was amazing. Or… yeah.

I saw Poison with Tesla as openers… come to think of it I think it might have been the same tour, but Tesla opened for half and Cinderella for the other? Hmmm…. 1991 sounds about right, anyways.

Did they delete some comments? Can't see a single negative comment here.

Yeah, I used to listen to all sorts of Zappa but too much of it is focussed on being complex/clever, both verbally and musically. I tend to value soul over intellect in music, I think, and Hot Rats is probably the peak of that in Zappa’s career.

My high school principal's last name was Bates. Much hilarity ensued.

I have never listened to a Cake album knowingly, but I like every single song I've ever heard of theirs. Short Skirt Long Jacket was overplayed for a minute, but it's a killer fucking song.

I have well over that many Steve Earle albums, if you include bootlegs. And probably a few other bands, but not many come to mind.

I'm exactly the same, plus I already own 1 and 2, because as has been pointed out, I'm a breathing person and it's pretty impossible not to own them.

On the only episode of Conan O'Brien I think I've ever watched (don't have anything against him, just don't watch much live TV and especially not talk shows), he had some joke about Kyrgyzstan and some other country receiving urgently-needed airdrops of vowels. It was pretty funny.

Still racist against Eastern Europeans, then?

That version wasn’t actually released until the early 90’s. So for about 20 years, the only one anyone knew was the shorter one. It was cut that way so it plus the next tune could fit on a single side of an LP. Basically the same idea, but they cut out a lot of the connective tissue of the sax solo in particular, so

My kids know Hot Rats (the remastered version, because I need that extra five minutes of The Gumbo Variations - seriously, I can't listen to the short one any more) because I probably play it at least once a month. The rest? They'll have to wait.

"meat"

Not even what he says.

There is no next step. That’s kind of critical.

That's… not what evolution means.

It's… nearby.

I did skip out of work early last week to watch one of the Germany games, though, so that’s a thing.
