All.
All.
As noted above, second hand stores. At worst, you'll get a bunch of beer money you didn't have yesterday.
The complete discographies thing is kind of weird, from my perspective - do you really want the past 30 years of the Stones or whatever?
Really looking forward to this series, although I clearly have very different taste in music from Josh.
Who cares if it's "yours" in some nebulous sense? Listening to music is listening to music. I don't own the experience of listening to music, but that's all I care about.
And your phone can store hundreds of CDs, which is hard to hold in your hand.
Second hand CD store, you'll probably get at least 200 bucks if your collection is any good, which is 200 bucks that you didn't have yesterday, and you'll have a bunch less boxes cluttering up your apartment.
Speaking as someone who is a few years further down this road than you (kids just turned 11 and 13), honestly, chuck out as much of the shit as possible. You're really, really, not going to regret having given away any of it when you're 45 or whatever. It just weighs you down.
Well, if it's not Kiss of Death, the world's probably better off without it.
Yes. I listen to plenty of Zep/Stones/old white guys playing the blues, but I can't see why you would need the physical albums to do so.
Why do you need a CD player to play albums in your car? I'm genuinely confused - isn't it actually easier to play albums off a phone?
Yeah, I just don't get it. I ripped all my CDs to a hard drive almost 10 years ago, and never looked back. Do I miss some of the physical interaction with the booklets and artwork? Sure, to be honest. But fuck it, the ability to have a week's worth of continuous music on my phone is worth that trade off.
From what I understand, if you're actually interested in classic movies, you're better off keeping the DVD service, since they have far more obscure titles.
Hmmmm… Is this show any good? Does its mystery actually make sense? Will it fill me with rage as the plot threads unravel in a Lost/Heroes/BSG kind of way, or does it maintain at least a nominal amount of coherence?
He was one of the interviewees for Gamelogical's What Are You Playing This Weekend, back in its golden days. As I recall, he actually played a bunch as a kid?
I honestly can’t remember, I was kind of drunk, but it was something very confusing that was (I think) trying to be offensive about… something? Fuck, can’t remember at all.
The fuck?
S'all good, just teasing.
That crack you out, huh?
I think Live at Budokan is a pretty great album, actually. "Vegas" is certainly not the word I would use to describe it, either. I can see that it wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it's got a lot of solid reinterpretations of his songs.
