No, but if you're very lucky they might touch you.

Yeah, they do actually make movies like that.

Your refusal to lower your incredibly high standards has been noted.

"Come back, Master Tarantino"?

The. Chipmunks. Fucking. Christmas. Album.

Ouch. That's some serious ear damage, both literally and figuratively.

It's not that they're wicked
Or naturally bad
It's knowing they're foreign
That makes them so mad

Well, that's curvy, at least.

I'm assuming autocorrect?

You’re probably right, but it does seem to me that the post-60’s kids are uniquely childish, not in the sense of openness to experience and creativity and so forth (which are good things), but in the sense of not being able to take fucking responsibility for themselves (which is a bad thing). Then again, maybe that’s

I think of all the nations that have been involved in totalitarianism and/or mass slaughter of their own people in, say, the past century (which is a depressingly large group), the Germans are by far the best at confronting their past (indeed, other than possibly Cambodia and Rwanda, they’re the only ones I’m aware of

They're not particularly great books written for children. The fact that they are the favourite books of two generations of university undergraduates is depressing as all hell.

I mean, maybe most Germans don't bring it up as idle party chatter, or whatever, but they are all educated about it, in a lot of detail. It's probably at least as prominent in German high school history as, say, the Revolutionary War is in America.***

No one in this scene seems incapable of fun or excitement, though.

Damn, those Humble bastards put out another three games on my wishlist on this month's monthly bundle. Still. Will. Not. Subscribe.

I think the movies are just reflecting the world: we are more childish than our grandparents were. Our pop culture has been celebrating youth since the late 60's, and I suspect in some ways a lot of what you're talking about comes from the boomers' generational conflict with their parents. For some odd reason I don't

It is one.

But They Did Make a Lot of Dick Jokes.

In related news, at Simon Fraser University, near Vancouver, you can basically walk across the roofs of a bunch of the buildings (in the sense that these are deliberate pathways to other buildings where the ground is higher, not that you dodge security guards or whatever). Anyways, on one of these roofs there is a
