I think it goes beyond that. They are offering a bounty for invalidating any of the other patents held by Blackbird, not just the one involved in this suit. The idea being to put Blackbird out of business, instead of just protecting Cloudflare.

I’m glad they won, Blackbird deserved that. What I’m ecstatic about is their bounty program. I’m curious if more companies are going to follow suit with similar trolls.
I always thought Blade doesn’t get the credit it deserves because the movie isn’t very comic book-y and is more of a 90s action/horror movie. It doesn’t help the Blade is a minor comic character, though that fact actually helped get the movie made.
