Somewhat with you up until your last line.  A real look into the employment figures in the US would give you an idea about the sort of jobs that exist, and why people are taking gig work to try to make ends meet or participate at all in the economy.

The ‘Gig Economy’ is a terrible economy. Even worse, it’s all about shifting wealth from the people who have the least (dashers, etc) and giving it over to people who have more than they need (venture capitalists, silicon valley ‘disruptors’ etc).

People should be paying attention to ‘Wet Bulb Temps’ and what happens when those get to 95-96 degrees F.

I’m more concerned by the crypto-miners who have stolen millions of untold millions of dollar’s worth of video cards so that they could steal even more money from dupes in their pyramid/MLM scheme.
