If you were to give someone a million dollars a day, you would have had to have started 252 Years ago for that person to match Jeff Bezos’ 92 Billion made during the pandemic.

I’m increasing finding I support forced sterilization and imprisonment of ‘conservatives’ if not even more drastic measures.

Oh we could _easily_ do it if we had the will.

When I clicked through the aritcle that was what I was looking for, because I was like.. HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING THAT?

I sorta thought I was, with my original post, projecting my experience on BIPOC. I was noting just how hard it must be because my own experience is tough, theirs must be extra tough.

Agree.

Yeah, I mentioned that in a different reply. I think it is an error in bringing the source data to the article, I presumed as much and in most studies I see they increase ‘poverty’ level by a percentage to acknowledge that the US/Govt defined poverty level is ridiculous.

I didn’t miss that. I also know that the reduction in their cost due to increasing their efficiency very likely would NOT change the fact that more of their income is spent, as a percentage, on energy.

Agree.

You don’t seem to get the point either. Increasing the energy efficiency of low income residents is not going to change their economic position in any substantive or reasonable manner.

I prefer to see some movies in the theater.

I’m a leftist.  Capitalism is bad, as currently practiced/implemented in the West but most specifically the US and to some extent the UK.

Agreed. Study was lazy. I’ve made another reply/example, addressing efficiency of appliances and the measurement used (Cost as percentage of income) just doesn’t make for a good picture or provide solid data for actually addressing and fixing the issue.

Well, if you are stuck with my psychology, the alternative is to be often depressed, sometimes surly, frequently angry, over-react to little things under react to the big ones, etc.

I’m verbose. I tend to be ‘pedantic’ without intending to. I just think that when you make an assertion or argument its important to provide your reasoning/examples. I could merely assert ‘Study is wrong, It uses a measurement that does not accurately define the problem nor justify the conclusions’ and yeah..

I’m guessing you missed where I addressed efficiency.

That may be valuable data, especially when reported across the economic quintiles.

I wrote the %200 below the poverty level as an error. You can’t be %200 below poverty level. I think they meant to indicate 200% of poverty level because the U.S. Measurement for poverty level is fairly insane and does not match at all what is required to live in event he cheapest areas of the country.

Well I’m replying without checking to see why you are still in the greys so don’t do me dirty.

I can’t fathom how incredibly energy consuming this must be. I’m a white dude with dysthymia or what some term, ‘Depressive Realism’. It consumes so much mental energy just to go through every day in a normal white guy likely promoted above his deserving, life.
