So you’re saying you made a well thought out, reasonable decision about your health and your body; the people responsible for it did not judge or subject you to their personal bias; and your supportive partner was there for you and cared for you before, during and after.

I just recently learned that my wife will often take a huge bite (or multiple bites!) right out of a wedge of Parmesan cheese, then shred a little off the end to get rid of the tooth marks and cover up her shenanigans. Still working through my own feelings to figure out if this discovery makes me love her more, or if

“Mother of Exiles,” for fuck’s sake. At this point we ought to gift her to Germany. We don't deserve her.

People will no doubt crap on Rousey for the babies comment, but I can absolutely sympathize with her on losing a fight in such a bad manner. Especially for someone who spent so much time on top, it must be hard coming down so hard (no pun intended.)

It would require retooling the entire process, but what’s really important was that it’s something that was never discussed or planned for by the people implementing these laws. The question of how to reach out people who may not have an I.D. to insure they won’t be disenfranchised was never considered because it was

Charles Blow is also worth a shout out here.

I got through to my dad by pointing out if they really thought a photo I.D. was necessary then voter cards should have been changed to include a photo I.D. At minimum there should have been a public service campaign to reach out to communities and make sure people have appropriate I.D.s long before the election.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that we are living in a very different political landscape than existed even twenty years ago, and Hillary Clinton has been in the political landscape for nearly forty. In that time, she has been unwavering in her commitment to poverty relief, children’s welfare, and women’s

Isn’t it incredibly satisfying to have a political discussion that doesn’t really ever reach “argument” that actually permenantly changes someone’s views on things, at least in a minor way?

Maureen Dowd continuing to be horrible aside, I really don’t see this sense of “entitlement” from Hillary Clinton. She’s a hard worker with an incredible amount of experience, and it feels like her daring to show up and run for president gets her accused of entitlement. Is there anything that she has actually said

Try telling this to the idiots in my town. They seem convinced that there are hordes of people just slavering to defraud the vote. And when the Democrat handily beat the TeaPartier in the local district election, bemoaned the “ghetto” town next door for somehow gaming the system.

Ugh, I would NEVER buy one of these.

I guess if you’ve already been indicted on felony charges, violating an injunction seems like no biggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ohhh nice...they violated an injunction....WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

At this point, the most cost-effective and ethical cancer donation thing you can do is probably go to your local research university and buying the grad students a nice a sandwich platter.

So much of it just comes down to unconscious bias. People see two resumes (or portfolios, or bodies of work, or whatever) and automatically privilege the white guy’s without even realizing they’re doing it. They honestly believe they’re picking the most qualified candidate; they just don’t realize how much race and

You know I’m torn on this! As a woman and person of color it’s great for ME. I mean how nice will it be to just be handed a high paying writers gig without doing any work at all or having any talent, you know? I could call up a few late night shows and have a job tomorrow, no resume or writing samples required!

that little boy in a hoodie in front of the police, and the cutting to the “stop shooting us”... damn, that did me in.

Wow. This woman. She is doing good work.
