The people who fight against divorce always like to leave out the biggest reasons rates spiked a while back was simply because laws came in that required women be allowed to ask for a divorce and have a bank account. It’s terrifying to think of what would happen to domestic violence rates by going back to that.

Don’t forget that they also want to go after divorce.

I’d really settle for indifference. They don’t even have to be nice, just leave trans people alone.

This is why CarMax appears they will remain a solid business while Vroom is dead and Carvana could be next.

I have roughly zero faith in the government, as it has evolved, doing anything to break up Amazon. It’s impressive enough when they just stop a merger.

My tinfoil hat thought is that some companies did it as a means of doing layoffs without having to fire anyone. I know if my company wanted to cut head count, mandating a RTO would do that real fast.

These political convoys are really getting out of control.

They were renting private planes to storm the capital. Or funding the life of a SCOTUS.

When I had a relative stationed in the UK while in the Navy, they said Mt Dew from America was like gold bars on the base because you couldn’t buy it locally. Turns out, some countries aren’t fans of their citizens having unlimited sugar & caffeine available any time.

I don’t miss key doors as the norm, but I do think they need to stay available as a backup. I’ve had keys suddenly stop working while I’m out and that physical key was very appreciated.

I don’t think anyone honestly anticipated that Barbie was going to be the giant it was, so pre-ordering costumes like it was the next Avengers would have been a huge risk. A lot easier to react and send out clothes for Halloween/Christmas than hope a movie about a doll becomes a billion-dollar hit.

This is shaping up to be a pretty solid movie.

Based on how the Jez comments looked in their final days, I’m about 100% certain they just fired everyone who manages them. So, these are the consequences of an online comment board with no maintenance or monitoring.

Everyone is jumping to negative biases. Positive biases also exist.

The biggest appeal of streaming services was that you pay a fee and get content without the adds, as opposed to cable where you pay a fee and get adds. The steamers have grown and are running out of VC money. Every year they keep finding new ways to get closer and closer to the cable model they initially replaced.

Now Big Woke is coming for our poop. I should have listened to the warnings.

I went Catholic school from K-12 and I’m only a few generations removed from the guy who founded the Catholic diocese where I grew up. I don’t think there’s any limit what a group will justify for the sake of their personal beliefs. I did get one of my high school teachers to openly state to a class that having a

Fuck yes

Apologies for not including an /s here. Looks like the Amish are monitoring kinja now too.

Leasing a home charger sounds like an odd choice. There is a lot of electrical work that can go into that, so it’s not really something you just unplug and pick up later on. Financing deals on them can make a lot of sense. Get people locked into the long-term cost of paying for a charger could push to keep that
