Comparing benefits is a giant pain. I’m not sure I’d officially accept a job that won’t share the full benefit package first, but I also know a lot of people don’t get that luxury.

Other than on tolls, does Texas even have tag reading cameras? Red light cameras got outlawed years ago.

Oher was an NFL prospect while he was in high school, not some unknown commodity with a questionable future. He was getting a full ride to any school he wanted and a wealthy Old Miss booster came in to legally bribe/guide him because the NCAA has spent decades being insanely stupid about how players can make money and

Sam Raimi’s Spiderman is already over 20 years old. The multiverse thing might not still be running the way it has, but we literally just got a major cameo of a 35 year old Batman that people were really excited for. They will definitely keep trucking on.

That makes a lot more sense, but I’d be pissed applying for a job based on the total ‘value’ as opposed to the actual salary in big bold letters.

I remember when I first moved to Houston, I constantly saw people with temp tags like that. I initially thought it was weird how I saw a “recently purchased” car almost every day. The local paper has had multiple stories on this for almost a year now, so it makes a lot more sense that there are just many 1000s of fake

I assume there’s some unnamed bonus as part of that $170k? Even if you make the top mark of $49/hr, that will require ~58 hours a week for 52 straight weeks (assuming 1.5x after 40 hours) to hit $170k/yr.

Absolutely this. The extra cost of a good running store will be dwarfed by the medical costs of using a bad shoe.

I can definitely see this being a thing for some people, but I’ve had mine for over a year now and haven’t had that issue. I keep it in my pocket while doing home repairs & yard work and I’ve taken it to the beach and construction sites. The only thing I’ve had to do was replace the screen cover after one of the beach

While that could be awesome, the vast majority of offices I’ve been around maybe have 1% of their parking spaces with chargers. That includes the west coast. For every exception that has a ton of chargers, there are probably even more with zero chargers. That will hopefully change over time and companies will start

I guess we should have added “the ability to actually own the car you purchased” to that recent QOTD about dying automotive trends.

That dude is bootlicking all over this post.

Used EVs - If corporations & real estate moguls get their way and get the vast majority back into an office daily, the used EV market will be extremely competitive, even at <100 miles. If I end up in a position where I have to drive every day, I will be immediately shopping a cheap EV and quoting a charger for my

Fortunately, we don’t usually need a ton more than paper/clipboard, stuff to measure with, and basic safety gear. I can figure out just about anything else based on experience & records. Sometimes we need one of those big locate wands and a measuring rod for manhole depth, but that’s more of the exception. Being a

If they sue him, would that open some type of discovery that gives the state even more access to their patients records?

I’m a football person and Oher hasn’t had almost anything to say about this movie ever since it came out. Multiple players have said he’s anywhere from indifferent to mad about it, but mostly remained pretty private on the whole thing. This coming out public after all these years, it makes a lot of sense that he has

That bed looks so low that my kids could probably get stuff in & out. Would be incredibly useful for cargo to be at/below waist height.

The electric transmission system to my house has 2 local hospitals on it and as an ex-northerner, I know how to winterize my pipes enough, so that freeze wasn’t too bad for my house. I think snow is awesome for ~5 days a year, then I don’t want it below 50 the rest of the year. Being that my work is in utilities, that

Most cars in general are abundantly more reliable than they were 20 years ago, so it’s pretty easy to find any that have made it 200k, just like some Toyotas/Hondas are lemons. I have 2 coworkers that hate Toyota because they did the ‘sensible thing’ and got a Corolla shortly after graduating that ended up being a
