Thanks. Yeah I picked the name from the myth, but the Keats poem is pretty damn good too.

Yeah I think having multiple actors/actresses swapping between scenes would be the way to go when it is just the Endless together because in those scenes Desire would just be themselves and not “appealing” to anybody’s attraction or sensibilities. Also, since Desire always has the same distinctive eyes, even when…
Yeah he has the look down, the size, and the easy humor of Destruction.
Solid choice! I was fantasy casting a bit earlier myself and had Rami Malek as Dream. So I think that would be a great leading pair. Indira Varma was my other choice for Death. Kristen Stewart or Grace Jones as Desire (unless they want to cast multiple actors and actresses to play Desire since they change their form…
Article said it was written by the Gray’s Anatomy and Wonder Woman writer, while David Goyer is just executive producing. But either way, that does give cause for concern. At least Gaiman is also wrapped up in the project, intimately it seems, so he can reign that guy in from awful comments like those.
Gaiman’s pretty heavily involved, so that gives me hope. He’s had some very good adaptations recently, as well as in the more distant past, but none on this scale, admittedly. I’m still cautiously optimistic, I’d need to see a trailer or a cast list before I make any judgements. But I understand the trepidation.
Desire also would be a difficult concept to explain in a TV show. I mean, Gaiman does a really good job in the comics of explaining the shifting and fickle nature of Desire transcending genders, and how the Endless might take on aspects of humanity when humans (or martians) view them but aren’t really constrained…
They could do a lot of it live action and blend in animation for some of the more difficult dreaming sequences. Or animate some flashbacks.
I’ve definitely mentioned before around this site that Hawley would be great, so maybe that’s where you saw it. I’m glad you feel the same way and he would definitely make a rich mindfuck of a Sandman adaptation. Sad they don’t have him. Though since Gaiman is going to be heavily involved with this, I guess we can…
Don’t forget Constantine! Though I guess he was relatively fresh at the time, his Swamp Thing appearance, then solo Hellblazer comic were mid 80's and Sandman was ‘89. I think.
Prison Mike hanging out with Mac-Dad/Luther in jail? Aw yeah, spin-off.
Yeah in his article he insinuates that the ability to speak Spanish in the US is somehow sinister, but then in his “clarifying tweet thread” he’s like wait, I speak Spanish, I can’t be a racist!
Idris Elba is still in great shape but he’s also getting closer to 50 so starting up as a new Bond which is a lengthy commitment... I think they missed the window. If they were to cast a black British dude as Bond I’d vote for Daniel Kaluuya. Handsome, sharp, young, been in action movies. He’d be awesome.
Atomic Blonde was pretty dope though.
Then who is better, in your opinion?
They had a good cameo in War of the Realms though.
I was thinking the same thing.
Charlie and Creed. Stanley and Frank. Ryan and Dennis. Mac and Dwight. Dee and Jim.
I think you mean Reddit is a “Yuuuuuge” site.
“writing” in crayon.
