I know not every map could support it, especially now, but I’ve always been disappointed we didn’t get more Mario Kart tracks backwards. Mirror Mode is lame. I want backwards!

When I used to play Mario Kart and I was way behind, I’d just turn around and start doing the track backwards to mess with the other players.

I’m still consumed by THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD. I’ve found 70-something shrines, three of the fairy fountains, unlocked the entire map, collected two different kinds of dragon scales and I’m getting ready to start the final Divine Beast mission (the Gerudo Desert one). I finally beat my first Lynel,

I think The Fractured, But Whole looks like it’s more my speed over the original, and now that I hear you get the first one included when you buy the second, it’s definitely on my radar, even though I don’t have ANY time for it. I also think I’d identify more with Hyrule Warriors than I would Fire Emblem Warriors...I’m

My copy of Super Mario Odyssey is scheduled to arrive today and that will be my whole weekend. Or it would be except we have a big deadline at work on Monday and I have to test a feature that the developer hasn’t completed yet. So I might need to work over the weekend unless the developer happened to code it

I was a roller for a long time but the limitations of it were starting to grate on me in Splatoon 2. Obviously brushes and rollers have value (I ran into someone last night who wielded the Dynamo Roller like a pro), but the rollers especially I think require more finesse and preparation than before to succeed with.

Join us on AVoCADo!!! Not sure if there’s anywhere else people are gathering. Oh, perhaps the Steam Gameological Group here. Also I hope the horrible-ness of your week goes away. Thank goodness you’ve got that Super Mario Odyssey in your near future!

Oy, every time I stray from my preferred Spla2n weapons I’m reminded why I stick with them (with notable exceptions - discovering the inkbrush was a revelation). Also agreed on the Griller. Those guys suck.

If you’ve ever read a single thing I’ve posted, you already know that I’m going to play Super Mario Odyssey all weekend and then all next week and then forever.

I can finally breathe normally now that my Amazon shipment of Super Mario Odyssey is local and expected to deliver today. Seriously, the way Amazon tells you on Wednesday that a game coming out on Friday has shipped out, only for it to not update at all for 36 hours, drives me nuts. On the plus side, using Amazon

This weekend will, of course, be dominated by Super Mario Odyssey. I’m recovering from a cold or sinus infection or something, so I’m really looking forward to vegging out with Nintendo’s cheeriest franchise to perk me up.

To be hopelessly pedantic with regard to Fire Emblem Warriors, the directing AI characters to go accomplish tasks is a mechanism that was introduced in the much-maligned Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS. That said, I think I might be one of the only people who loved that game, so the omission is reasonable, haha. Also, F

I actually got a free code for Fractured But Whole, and am looking forward to playing it if I can. I have a fairly new integrated graphics chip which SHOULD work, but apparently atm the PC port is pretty rough with the frame rate even for recommended specs, so I’m waiting around for a patch before I give it a spin.

My copy of Super Mario Odyssey should be arriving today, so of course that’s going to happen. I also would like to finish Yono and the Celestial Elephants and get the October gear from Splatoon 2's Salmon Run, but we’ll see how much Mario grabs me.

Well, I can’t imagine anything tearing me away from Super Mario Odyssey.

I’ll be playing the new Wolfenstein, which I’ve been looking forward to for ages and am glad to see looking like it’ll live up to the first. Seeing the trailers for the original led me to think it was going to be uninspired, lazy trash- ‘Robot Nazis’ being second only to ‘Magic Nazis’ on the ‘Lazy Ways to Make Nazis

Please stop with the praise for Mario. I will end up buying a Switch before the end of the year and really shouldn’t considering my financial situation. Zelda was already so painful to watch from afar.
On a “serious” note, your write-up really encapsulates the the joy and sensation of how you experience Mario

Working nights makes a midnight release for a game like Super Mario Odyssey make sense for me. Stop by after work, why not? Well, I abused Prime Day and with a gift card managed to knock it down to just $5. Getting a candidate for Game of the Year for a Lincoln is a nice thing.

Super Mario Odyssey is...so damn good. It’s so damn good! I’ve been playing for about an hour and a half, and I’m seriously in love with this thing. It’s funny, it’s zany, it’s really bouncy and weighty in a way that’s incredibly satisfying. There will be a lot of discussions in the future about the relationship

In the spirit of the season I’ve picked up Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on the WiiU Virtual Console. For those who don’t know it’s basically the GBA equivalent of Symphony of the Night- slightly cruder graphics and sound bc of the system, new map and story and such, but that same style of gameplay. It’s also got a
