The youthful, bright, urban (and mild vandalism) aesthetic of Splatoon called to mind Jet Set Radio. I haven't played the game since I owned a Dreamcast back in its hey day, but it might be worth a revisit since I see it's available on the playstation store.

FFVI is where it's at! Completing that game for the first time will always be a milestone for me. I did NOT know that Duncan fact, but now I'm itching to play the game again.

Splatoon is filling that nice summery fun niche of playing as a bunch of paint-gun toting graffitists. Let's try this splatfest thing again, shall we? With Judd officiating, you'd be crazy not to be on TeamCat.

Say what you will about Nintendo's E3 Direct, but Nintendo plus Muppets equals pure whimsical perfection.

Nintendo did right by making the Turf Battle front and center. It's tense without being intimidating. Everyone has the opportunity to help regardless of skill level. I've only dabbled in Ranked Battle since my FPS phobia starts to kick after only a couple of rounds. Tower Control added tomorrow!

The Splatoon fan in me wants to upvote you, but my Team Cat alliance really doesn't think I should.

It's been mentioned a couple of times now, but Splatoon all the way. It's the sort of game that had my attention from its announcement, delivered on the hype, and I'm still going back to regularly.

I've treated the Decemberists latest album as a sort of palate cleanser. It seems less a cohesive album and more a hodge-podge of songs they've kicked around for a while. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. The King Is Dead was indeed excellent, though. Backing vocals with Gillian Welch, 'nuff

I've only heard Coffee thus far. Is there anything on Wildheart as good as Do You…?

I'm terrible with long range weapons, especially the sniper rifles. Plus they don't accumulate paint points (i.e. money) like the Aerospray, so I've avoided them thus far.

People have already covered the basics, so I will only add two:

My crowning achievement in Smash Wii us was to complete the challenges without using any of the hammers. Took me months, so I took a break. With all the new DLC content I need to get back in the game.

I've been feeling the Nintendo doldrums myself. Nintendo, I felt, really hit it's stride this past year and a half. So I bought my Wii U about a year ago. But the conservative E3 announcements created more of a exhausted/scrambling vibe and I'm hoping they haven't run out of good ideas for the system.

I'm very intrigued about what Nintendo plans to replace their Club Nintendo program with. PSA: those club coins expire in 4 days everyone, get those rewards!

A Link to the Past will forever be that grand adventure that is so enjoyable I revisit it regularly. It's the videogame equivalent of reading The Hobbit.

The Count of Monte Cristo. Considering it was serialized in newspaper form first, there is little in the way of subtlety, but it makes for a surprisingly fast read for being a monster of a tome. Plus I get to brush up on my Napoleonic history.

Guacamelee in between bouts of Splatoon, but I've been itching to catch up on some critical darlings I've overlooked. Namely Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, and the Suikoden series.

I have yet to play this Okami. Any recommendations on which system I should (i.e. Wii or PS3?)

I question Judd's impartiality with this weekend's event.

It was weird they announced the Smash Bros. content separately on early Sunday morning. Why not attach it to the main presentation? It could have added a little more punch (pun intended).
