This post reminds me of what I would consider the FIRST GREAT MOD I ever installed. The “duct-tape mod” for Doom 3, which let you effectively tape the flashlight to your gun. Brilliant!

Mad World. That’s literally it.

Reverse: My wife’s first car was a 64 1/2 Mustang with factory air. She brought it to college as a freshman, where we met. And, the following summer, she rear-ended me at a notoriously bad intersection (I only avoided the car in front of me thanks to power brakes), leaving me to explain what happened to her dad (let’s

It’s apolitical. Prefers not to stand for anything. ;)

It’s common to use a comma to separate consecutive adjectives. War is the noun.

Agreed. The idea of planning out your turns, tactics-style, so they autoplay like a hands-off version of SuperHot is really appealing to me. Will definitely check this out. I’ll probably suck at it, but there’s also something very inviting about the graphical style and palette choice.

Held off playing Ori until the XSEX came. Finished it last night. Such a beautiful game. The chase scenes were tricky at times, but other than the final boss, the bosses were pretty easy (at least on Normal). Which I was really glad for. I never finished the Blind Forest, which I felt was quite a bit harder.

I’ve been using XSEX since it was announced.

Haven’t had any crashes yet (knock wood) but I notice that part of my challenge with Quick Resume is my own ingrained habits.

I’ve described Hearthstone Battlegrounds as comfort food. When I’m stressed about something, I log onto Hearthstone and play a a few games. I’ve been playing Hearthstone since beta and the addition of an auto-battler mode made me fall in love all over again with it. Sure, it’s random as hell, but removing the pressure

I fully expected the Switch to be declared the winner of the Picnic category.

Same here. I’m still playing on an original Xbox One. So, while that part of me that can vividly recall my experiences with each new console generation dating back to the 80s will be disappointed at some level, the part of me that just wants to play games, faster, and finally in 4k, is very excited.

To be fair, nobody should have to suffer the indignity of only having 2 commas in their net worth.

This is really fun read. Thanks for writing this, Ash.

I was about 75 hours into FFVII, farming for a Golden Chocobo, working to get Knights of the Round (or whatever it was called) so I could finally take down Emerald and Ruby.

I got home from work, turned on MY PlayStation and came face to face with an error message. My multi-page third party memory card failed. I lost

Nice job, Stephen. Really solid interview and great write-up.

I couldn’t stand the PS3 and PS4 menus. Aside from all of my friends doing their online gaming on X360 and me just falling into that ecosystem, the interface for the PS3 and PS4 were a main reason why, for the first time since the NES/SMS era, I ceased being a multi-platform gamer.

Ever since the PS2, it’s been awful.

Same here. Had to refresh a couple times. The site was super slow at 8am, but when I finally got through shipping info and billing info and hit “place order” it briefly borked. Fortunately, the pop-up said it was on their end, try again in a few moments.

Back in college, in the mid 1990s, my geology department had just gotten an incredible tech upgrade with projectors and massive screens. It wasn’t quite movie theater quality (obviously), but they were 12-foot (~4m) screens with good picture quality.
