“We’re not making much money in the current economy, so we have to let you go... Pay no attention to the millions of dollars we are about to light on fire by buying a competitor...”

just looking at the image from the article... there’s a freaking Zuckerberg hospital? WTF?

I was never really the target audience for theaters. It just doesn’t make sense to me to spend $20 plus concessions to see a movie when I can’t pause it when I need to go pee or want to look something up on IMDB (where the HELL do I know that actor from!?!?!?!)

If I’m that desperate to know what the story is, there are

normally yes, but it’s starving right now and they want to feed us to it.

the tree of capitalism must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of the poor & vulnerable...

Liqueur can be measured in ounces? I learned something new today...

Webex (at least for my company) has gotten rather pricey and starting today we have been getting a ton of reports of bad calls all day long.

But only if your computer antivirus is up to date and you're a registered campaign donor for the re-election.

I guess I’m a little confused, if the laptop does not have video ports then how are you connecting to an adapter?

How have you been connecting it to the laptop? Even without a dock the external video ports should be functional.

oof, cheap 3rd party hardware can sometimes bite you. Good luck with that. I’ve been contemplating trying to get a smaller power brick for my new Macbook that I just received (official one is massive and covers extra plugs) but I don’t want to run into something like this

a politician pleading ignorance is ironic but fitting, but in regards to selling a bunch of stock right after hearing about how the virus is going to impact the US just days before the market nosedives... fishy.

if you have direct information about the potential future health of the market (like any senior politician) or are in a position to make decisions that could influence the future of the market (again... politicians) then you and anyone close to you should not be allowed to trade stocks. We see stuff like this time and

this is the same boat that probably 90% of businesses are in at the moment, and legislation is brewing that should help everyone stay afloat during the lockdowns. Even if companies are still technically open, almost every industry is taking a major hit in sales right now (aside from grocery stores and takeout food),

tracing the exact source of an infection like this would be impossible, unless you are literally fully quarantined with video evidence that no one else came by for a month except for that one technician who coughed a few times. And even then their lawyers would spin it and tie it up for years.

that would be wonderful if there were other viable options in most areas. When you’re the only game in town, dropping service doesn’t work as well.

every one of the CEOs and managers who feel this way should be showing support for their employees by being out on the call floor or taking field calls to potentially ill customers. If their employees have to be exposed to the risk, then they should be as well.

my point was that it’s fine and well that they are covering the cost of being tested, but if the test comes up positive then it would still drive a large majority of people into massive debt for treatment. And if I remember correctly, the treatments for this virus basically just involve IV fluids and monitoring , and

so... it won’t cost $3k to get the test that is in very short supply? I guess that’s good news, but what about the tens of thousands that long hospital stays for treatment or mandatory quarantines could wind up costing if your test comes back positive?

someone got the joke!
