I’m not sure about employment laws in the US but surely you must have grounds to sue them/threaten to sue them? Thats absolutely disgusting behaviour and discriminatory both for a long term health issue and gender!!

Maybe it was because USB sticks are so small. I was also a very forgetful child, I managed to lose my coat three times. No one stole it, I just always managed to lose it!

This is why I think that notebooks will surely alway be used at school. The amount of stuff I used to loose as a kid, including about 30 different USB keys in the 7 years of secondary school I would actually use them, no way is my child getting an expensive laptop for school.

colour coded mind maps have always been my go to for essays. If i mess up the colours though I get incredibly sad and have to start all over again!

I always write my notes by hand first as well. If i’m revising for an exam, my trick was to rewrite the notes but pick out key bits each time, to the point that it goes from 5 pages of writing to 1 flash card. That way, a sentence can jog loads of notes in your brain!

I graduated university a year ago. I never used a laptop in a lecture or seminar, or for note taking. Only to type things up and organise them after the fact.

It was very sad but I don’t live at home or in the same city anymore, so I feel like it won’t really hit me until I next go to visit. I was more upset for my mum, since me and my sister left home they have become her replacement children in a lot of ways, and she was heartbroken by it.

If you can go in to an office (if there is one your bosses might be at) I would suggest going in and asking to have a quick chat. Keep it quite casual but maybe just ask about the project, say that you could maybe secure funding from somewhere and would like to start prepping for it if possible and see what they say…

No in the UK they actually are checked. Every Uber driver is a licensed mini-car driver because it is illegal not to be. Its different in America. But here, Uber is as safe as any other mini-cab driver!
