Keith Olbermann Corners Roger Goodell at Gunpoint in Woods, Forces Him to "Squeal Like a Pig"
Yes, everyone who knew exactly what happened on that elevator and took no action deserves to be punished. We have a word for those types of people. They're called "enablers." Just like Joe Paterno was an enabler for child abuse, Newsome, Biscotti, Harbaugh and Cass are enablers of domestic violence. None of them took…
Well, yes. If you bothered to read this article you would discover that the owner was told exactly what occurred in the elevator and did nothing until the public outcry over the video forced him to take action. He didn't even so much as give Ray Rice a slap on the wrist until a video that had information that he…
A second chance for Ray Rice? He had a chance to admit to the public what he did. He had a chance to apologize. He had a chance to attempt to make amends for his failure as a human being. His response? "Failure isn't getting knocked down, it's not getting back up." He had his second chance already and instead he…
I don't keep tabs on domestic abusers per team. I only offered that as an example I recall of a player being involved in a domestic violence dispute and being cut. None of that, by the way, excuses anyone from not dealing with their woman beating players harshly.
That's true, but it also serves as an example that there are some organizations that actually do cut players for domestic abuse, even if those players aren't as valuable to their teams as Rice was. In any case, that would not excuse the Ravens for not doing a single thing when they already knew what happened.
So are these representatives just practicing the "ABC's of American Sports Commissioners" or do they perhaps have a more pertinent reason for listing them? I definitely know my ABC's of American Sports Commissioners:
Oh goodness, I didn't even notice that they were listed under a CC. I'm still wondering why they're being alerted to this. Is this Congress' way to bringing domestic violence to the attention of all the American sports leagues?
Wait, why are Gary Bettman, Don Garber, Bud Selig and Adam Silver also named in this?
Calling for enablers of domestic violence to be fired is "bad" now, I guess. Wait, who are the bad guys here?
I remember a few years ago when the Dolphins were on Hard Knocks, Chad Ochocinco hit his wife and was cut the next day. But no, not many teams cut their domestic abuser players. Does that kind of negligent response to violent behavior excuse the Ravens for acting the same? No. No, it does not. This incident in…
You're absolutely right. Stupid women, always getting in the way of men's fists. Happens all the time! No big deal.
They could have cut him back in April. They didn't do jack.
Everyone in that organization should be gutted. Owner should sell the team; Harbaugh should be canned. Their punishment made the NFL's punishment look harsh. Because they didn't punish Ray Rice at all.
Stephen A. Smith has been doing his part lately to make Skip Bayless look far more intelligent than him.
The only thing I think is thank goodness that the gun was fired into the air instead of into the crowd. Probably only because the woman's husband was in the crowd, but still. That's one instance of a gun diffusing a situation up against 235987340584338454589 instances of a gun escalating a situation.
I'm embarrassed to admit that they're my favorite team. But they make the Browns and Lions look like juggernauts in comparison every year.
It speaks volumes that after a day full of videos of domestic violence and people defending enablers of pedophiles, the only thing that made me literally say "Oh no" out loud were the pictures of these hideous uniforms.
Twenty or so odd years counts as "promptly" nowadays. Other things that are "prompt":
