It’s a bit more complex than that. In the Southern California area they built up these suburbs 20 or thirty years ago when this fire frequency and intensity didn’t exist. Back then clearing brush to a safe distance and having a tile roof wasn’t enough protection.

I was working remotely with a designer out of Canada. Every time I’d send him feedback he’d reply with an upbeat message followed by a smiley face. I was convinced he was being sarcastic and the smiley face was him throwing in a sly “fuck off”. Then I remembered he’s Canadian.

At this point I’m starting to theorize there’s some sort of secret agreement between the two companies that they wouldn’t take the power beyond a certain level. Otherwise how do you explain neither bumping the power??
