Imagine a bus that comes within a block or two of wherever you are and takes you within a block or two of wherever you want to go, whenever you want.
Advantage: works around your schedule and no transferring buses. Also quicker to get to your destination.

I’ve used it before here in SF and yeah, it’s like a bus stop except it works on your schedule and takes you within blocks of where you want to go without needing to transfer to other buses. Overall definitely more convenient than public transportation.
