Hi! My name is Kyle. I've been a long time io9 reader and commenter. I suppose it was around 2008 when I started reading io9.... so does that give me some street cred around here? Probably not. I started reading io9 shortly after it came online because I was hooked on Gizmodo back then.

Clearly you haven't seen True Detective. Watch it, then reconsider.

My brain told me the headline for this story was "Archaeologists Searching For English King Killed By An Arrow To The Eye."

I love this so much. Holy shit, the music just makes it that much better. Somehow it reminds me of the human machine war from the animatrix.

Can we please start talking about what the hell this thing is????? Yeah, I can get behind most of what's going on here; spaceships, wormholes, warp technology.... wait... what the hell is this walking Lego thing? I assume it's some kind of robot, but what purpose does a robot with this configuration serve?

I was not in the Navy, however I do believe most of the command staff wore whites and khakis almost all the time until more recently when they switched to the digital utility uniform. In the Star Trek original cast movies, the bridge crew (officers) wore the nice uniforms while the unnamed various crewmen had other

As a veteran, I can speak from experience on this. The military cares not about your comfort.

The Federation wasn't a military, it was a government. I think you meant Starfleet, the organization that operated and maintained the ships. I think as a whole, the Federation never wanted Starfleet to be a military, but had no choice but to make the organization a military due to the Klingons and Romulans.

The original cast movies are the best. They are the most consistent and reflect a more accurate military system of uniforms... at least in my opinion. Plus, they bloused their pants, which is totally kickass.

I might pee myself trying to wait for Interstellar.

This is an incredibly narrow point of view. You can not close your eyes and just expect everything to be ok. Where were you in September of 2001? What about the USS Cole? What about Khobar Towers? What about the 2005 London bombings? What about the governments of these countries that agree with us performing strikes

HDR needs to die. Please. Like, yesterday.

First off, thanks for addressing this. The situation with the image troll was unfortunate and ultimately just ruined the fun for the rest of us. I would appreciate the opportunity to be followed, and would use it responsibly. I've been commenting on io9 for years and love this place, I'd love to help make it better

I'm really enjoying Swiftkey! No complaints here.

But it's genetically engineered and bad for you because that's what all my grass drinking, organic buying, politically correct, socialist, hipster friends tell me.

Was it hard to take this guy seriously? I bet it was.

This is Shadow. Whatever you think of the movie (Babylon AD), this was probably one of Vin Diesel's best roles. The character he played in this movie always stood out as Shadow to me.

And what does this mean for the weather forecast?

This casting is a little bit of a letdown for me too. I'm willing to give the guy a chance though. Does anyone else agree that they seem to be making Miller the main character when clearly, Holden is?

Absolutely not. Between work, college, my kid, my wife, and trying to keep my house from falling apart, there is very little time left for me. That time usually involves sitting on my ass and trying not to do anything stressful.
