Calibre FTW. It's a must.
Calibre FTW. It's a must.
There are easily a dozen reasons this weapon is desirable.
@SplotchEleven: Drones have amazing optics, Friendly IR beacons/reflectors exist, and look up something called blue force tracker. Your suggestions are currently in play. All the technology in the world can't save you from human error.
The trailer seems like just a collection of awkward moments caught on film. I keep expecting to hear dialogue like "Oh... well.... I didn't... hmmm...perhaps I .... I think I had better go."
@collex: Common Sense +1
@SBM_from_LA: I can see your point here, but I think you are overlooking some great things about these characters. La Forge may have been blind but he was arguably the smartest guy on the Enterprise! He was disabled, but rose above the challenge to be an extremely valuable member of the crew. In a way, at least in my…
@Norbs: This kind of thing has been done before, successfully.
@comrade_leviathan: I totally agree. Americans have lost the sense of wonder and excitement for space research. Things were finally going the right way again with the Moon, Mars, and Beyond doctrine until budget cuts neutered NASA. It's sad times for space junkies, inspiration is definitely needed.

Windows is on it's way out man, going the way of the dodo.
@CdeMonkey: For reals man, why not just use the knife to whittle another?
More importantly... only working six hours a day would be nice.
Sorry to get all nit-picky but that's a mortar, not a rocket launcher.
I think the last great SciFi Horror movie was Event Horizon. That movie was awesome back in the day. Sure, it's got it's cheezy moments but overall, well done.
I agree... this is stupid. Please drop the micro blog entries.
This is totally rad. If I were a kid I would definitely listen to Spiderman.
@Spaceknight: I think the real motivation for making this film is that people who are honest fans of the movies want to see how it all started. There were so many questions that were just never answered.
@Ceiling90: I admire your enthusiasm. I wish it were that easy.
@Ceiling90: I think they said about 20 LY away.
@siczar: I was thinking the same thing. The big implication with the Massive Dynamic issue is that it's ultimately going to be Peter's Company.
