It worked just fine for me. I played it to completion with 1 CTD, and only a couple instances of textures flickering into existnace in mid-range.

I'll be a bit angrier about DLC heavy games when the price of games is a lot higher. A lot of people don't seem to realize that games nowadays are pretty cheap, given inflation, compared to what they used to be. A $40 dollar game in 1990 should be $70 today. A few games do clock in around $70 today . . . and a lot…
And what's so wrong with having to wait? The freemium casual game I've put the most time into is Fallen London, which uses the exact same energy mechanic, combined with a fair amount of grind. All you ever get are a few more sentences in an enormous fictional universe, yet one feels compelled to keep clicking, day…
Woot! I missed the last thread, so here I am at the beginning of this one.
The thing that instantly jumped to mind was the Fusion Cannon sound made by the Ur-Quan dreadnought in StarControl. I can't explain it, but it's just the perfect sound for a giant space death beam.
I don't notice game music all that much, but when I do, I really notice it, and it's stuck in my head forever. I still remember the catchy little tune from Castles II, which, btw, is almost reproduced in Dragon Age Inquisition. I still remember a few tunes from Ultima VI, as reproduced on my synth keyboard that I…
When I was young, I had a number of cracked and illegal copies of games.
One of them was StarControl 2. My version crashed if I tried to use the Starmap. So, I played the game entirely without the StarMap, exploring and finding things by pure brute force. It was sort of like disabling fast travel in a game built…
High recommended. I read a similar series about breaking NBA2K2014, and the last article, wherein the author did his best to BREAK THE VERY GAME OF BASKETBALL ITSELF, had me doubled over in tears.
My best example of that scenario was from Dark Souls, the big ram demon on the castle wall atop Undead Burg. It killed me, and "You Died" was proudly displayed across the screen. The the idiot stepped off the wall, and died, and I got 10000 souls. And it was still dead. Yatta!
I'm slowly, slowly working my way through Dragon Age Inquisition. I've been really enjoying some areas more than others.
For me, this has been the year of the RPG.
I've only played Inquisition, so I know I'm not really seeing the Mage side of things too well, but i don't feel bad about siding with the Templars at all.
Argh, it figures this would release a couple days early. By surprise. All because of some stupid holiday that I vaguely remember from my now-distant youth. I'm not at all bitter about working at an institution that does not even honor local Japanese holidays, let alone American ones, and thus will be working…
I really enjoy playing with the Zoltan. You have to adjust your strategies a bit, but it's a ton of fun. The alt-Zoltan is also great.
I went in blind, and kinda chose at random. A couple times things came out VERY differently than I had thought they might, but whatever.
I got a bit burned out on Kickstarter myself, after I supported my sixth or seventh project, but then again I've actually got, in hand, a few things I supported and they've been absolutely great.
I have Starcraft 2. I played the campaign earlier this spring! Dabbling with MP might be fun.
Loving it.
I wonder if any of this has to do with the fact that Japanese men seem far more hair-aware and hair-interested, on average, than American men. Having seriously styled out hair is unremarkable for a young man here.
If you I can't afford a PS4, than you can't afford a laptop that can play anything beyond binding of Isaac and FTL. You absolutely absolutely MUST get one with a discrete graphics board, otherwise it will be totally useless. Such laptops are simply not made for the budget market. Find something used on EBAY, maybe,…
