That's a good point - I think rehabilitation is important, and certainly the current prison system doesn't promote rehabilitation enough.

Fair, there needs to be a consistent, rational line for when to try a defendant as an adult. Age as a general representation of mental capacity and maturity seems like the least arbitrary way to go.
