I visited Florida ONCE  and I “knew” I was going to hate it. We ended up in a little B&B run by the most dedicated Occupy leader I have ever met. The place was luxurious & immaculate btw, and legitimately easy on the environment. Don’t judge the South. It’s beautiful in so many ways.

“Blacks”.

Oh, sweet! ⚡️⚡️😺🏅 I wonder how many of us exist. And I love hearing stories from the Peace Corps (Plus I’m dying to visit Southeast Asia): I’m Snowlab9 (username EmmaRose) if you’re on Insta!

I’ve had all of those plus rabies! (Used to work with injured wildlife) 😂

Oh yes, I got that soon after I was a consenting adult. Thanks, you’re right I don’t think anyone gets immunity and that disease actually made the rounds in our neighborhood a few years ago!

Thank you yes I plan on getting gone it’s simply that I’m in major freak out mode until I do.

Thank you!! yes I even think my GP’s place offers it free but it’s far away.

Thank you!! You’re right I probably need tetanus too.... 🙏✨

Sorry for the double post but I can’t seem to find an outbreak map of Massachusetts: Help me out here - the vaccine is $100 and I just began a new job so no cash / insurance yet. My mom claims I was vaccinated as a child. However I can’t confirm it and she DID decline whooping cough vaccine when I was 3 months old

Help me out here - the vaccine is $100 and I just began a new job so no cash / insurance yet. My mom claims I was vaccinated as a child. However I can’t confirm it and she DID decline whooping cough vaccine when I was 3 months old (can you guess which disease I almost died from after that as an infant)? So now I’m

Sympathies. I had it at 24, after suffering a month long bout with the flu (no flu vaccine available in our region at the time). I’m super curious, did they give you any medication to relieve your suffering? I was initially diagnosed (at our college health center) with - I’m totally fucking serious - acne. After a

Hey I’m sorry to yell but ALL THEY HAD TO FUCKING DO was figure out a way to help small businesses pay a living wage to the lower and middle class, support Obamacare and do SOMETHING - guys! Anything, about climate change. But nooooo, the millionaires couldn’t stand to budge one goddamned inch. Are they happy now?

The autocorrect spelling mistakes here are epic.

Yes, great point. I gave up my car in 2013 and honestly it was a whole serendipitous event, not the way I expected it would happen but I found it so liberating. I don’t have kids either - in our culture it’s kind of an odd “club” to be in. Maybe in the future people will admire me instead of acting like I’m defective

I know, where is the competition for Costco?? I’m hearing about package-free stores and an initiative (called Loop, I think)? And that future can’t be here soon enough. And see? Here is this documentary, though lovely, guilting the average person as though we can all just drive down the street and suddenly have solar

Thanks for the response! See my comment to Tighe, and I’m more than happy to share how I got into composting. It wasn’t something I ever thought I would be able to do much less fall in love with! Constant commutes suck, don’t they? I do love the sound of twisty mountain roads though! Reminds me of The Shining! 😶

Thank you for the response - I so agree about a better rail system and it seems like something that nearly all of us can rally behind. Solar too. I’d say paper bags, assuming they’re sourced from recycled paper pulp (they may not be) are simply a different challenge than plastic. Recycling plants do use energy and

Cool stuff. I gave up my car too - luckily is the optimal word here! We were both in situations where it was realistic. And honestly, between the thousands I’m saving each year and having the guilt lifted off of me, I’d say it was as wonderful for me as it was for the planet! I’m quite sad that the urgency isn’t there

Can I ask a poll question? Biologist here - raise your hand if you would have ALREADY surrendered your car (or left it at home mostly) and done a bunch of other things **if only there were plenty of trains, busses, to and from your house? And other things -solar panels, compost bins, community gardens, you would take

In the meantime today I heard all women over 40 described as “Cougars” regardless of their behavior and of course men (I’m not referring to Rudd at all) who date someone 20 years their junior are simply referred to as “men”.
