That’s fair. It is A LOT of dialogue. Like constant reading (or voice acting now, I guess, but the delivery is often slow so I just end up reading and skipping forward) because all of your attributes are having a constant internal discussion among themselves. It’s really cool and interesting, but I can definitely see

As much Disco Elysium as possible. I don’t entirely get what’s going on, but I’m enjoying it a lot. I somehow managed to catch a cold this week (maybe from my friends’ two year old?), which meant I had to get a covid test, which meant I had to stay home from work while I waited for results (negative, thankfully),

Started Disco Elysium when it released for consoles earlier this week. So far so good, but I have no idea what I’m doing or what’s going on. Need to find one of my shoes still. How can I rest before that’s done?

Yeah, I was just coming to say that the actual origin of the “Streisand Effect” is fucking hilarious after reading that Wikipedia article. You can’t make this stuff up...

I actually think I already killed him...

I think I was vaguely aware that this area was optional. That might be a good idea. I hate those stupid crabs...

Still working on Dark Souls 3 right now. Had one day last weekend where I made a good amount of progress, but haven’t had much time to play since then. I think I’m only like halfway through the game and the area I’m in (the Catacombs/Smouldering Lake) has some bullshitty enemies, so I haven’t been itching to go back.

Is Outriders good? I think there’s co-op right? Me & one friend are always looking for something we can play together, so maybe that demo would be a good one to try.

I can barely keep track of what’s going on if I play two games at a time, so I generally have to play something all the way through in fairly short order if I’m going to finish the game. Case in point: I started Dragon’s Dogma maybe last spring and tried to pick it up a couple weeks ago and just couldn’t. Not sure I’m

Oh this might be a great gateway drug for my GF. She is totally cool with the idea of gaming, but she wants very low-stress/stakes stuff to play (A Short Hike also fit the bill). What I really want is for her to be into something enough that she’ll play it on the Switch in handheld on the couch beside me while I swear

Is it just me or did the bear in that trailer have the bear growl from Skyrim? Sounds identical to me...

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the daily open thread that Kotaku hosted for the first several months of the pandemic and all the readers that commented there. Honestly, it meant a lot during that period to have a place to vent or to just hear from other people about how they were being affected. It was a small,

I definitely had more time to play games over the past year. Largely due to the pandemic, but also due to my girlfriend just working a ton (she’s an employment lawyer and everyone got laid off, so her firm was busy!). At first it was nice to have a bit of an opportunity to catch up on my backlog - partly just because

OMG that same friend had the Rattler and that was literally the single coolest toy of my entire childhood. It had those little engine cover panels that you could swap out for ones with bullet holes... Just incredible.

Personally, I wasn’t able to even consider going to fight Ganon until I’d finished every shrine in BOTW so I can relate to that feeling.

I tried to resume a now-months-old save of Dragon’s Dogma last weekend and I think I let it sit too long, as I couldn’t remember what any of the items or equipment were or what I was supposed to be doing. So I gave up and picked up a less-old save of Dark Souls 3, which I will keep working on until the console version

I remember thinking the H.I.S.S. tank was so cool as a kid. My friend had one and I was very jealous. But seeing it as an adult makes me realize it is not a good tank at all. A glass canopy? And all that space under the cockpit looks incredibly vulnerable.

I agree with most of this, especially since it is usually actually difficult to be social in these spaces.

Right? He’s great musician, an excellent writer, a sharp critic... if he’s also good at sports I quit.

Invert y-axis is usually first. Then turning off subtitles - while I definitely understand why people like having them on, I find it more immersive and it forces me to actually listen when they’re off.
