I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it or, having worked with these men for 17 years, wish it was different. The trouble comes in when people assume that submitting to a woman who meets his physical and sexual preferences gives dude an erection = dude is going to be a respectful, kind, egalitarian person.

Yes. I’m glad her rapist was ultimately expelled (and hopefully charged as well, which I guess I missed), but I feel like reasserting her power and agency might’ve been better demonstrated in a non-sexualized way, one that wasn’t just more stroke material for other pigs like her rapist. But hey, you do you.

Keep a child safe from a baby book with one obnoxious picture of wonder woman? It’s not the library’s job to protect children from ideas we may not like. We have other books and we love to share good ones with kids. They are going to be exposed to a lot of different ideas in the library. Hopefully they’ll develop good…

This stinks. They were all protesters. And, for the record, good on them. ALL of them. IMHO, their actions are doing much more to Make America Great Again than Drumpf.

I tend to believe what my dad told me when I was a kid: if something is true of yourself, you don’t need to tell everyone about it, they’ll notice. If someone is really tough or smart or whatever, it will show, and the people who brag about how tough or smart or whatever they are probably are not.

Sort of unrelated, but today I saw a post about the Chicago Trump rally referring to “Black Lives Matter thugs” and “Bernie Sanders supporters” who showed up to protest. Wonder why the BLM people were referred to as thugs and not the Sanders supporters?!

A lot of times - East Coasters are just used to being able to be no filter, total a-holes 24-7. West coasters often just save that stuff until you’re mostly out of the room.

It is my experience that you can assume people are the opposite of any self-analysis they express. It’s always the person on Facebook who shares all the I’m-So-Happy-Life-is-Good-Haters-Can’t-Get-Me-Down stuff who are miserable as hell, and can carry a grudge like nobody’s business.

This always happens when conservatives whine about liberals being too PC and easily offended, but they cry persecution whenever you say anything criticizing Christianity or whatever. So goddamn annoying.
