Abortion doesn’t end, it just becomes more deadly. Women will seek abortions whether they are legal or not. Women will attempt to preform abortions on themselves, they will give random people all their money in return for a fatal hemorrhage, all to be not pregnant. Even with well funded birth control and sex ed

Sorry if this is super general, but just to reply to a few people in this thread who have made some awesome points, from the perspective of a person who works in abortion care (caveat, I am not a nurse, I am a surgical assistant, and while I counsel, ultrasound and educate patients, I do not perform procedures)

I work in abortion services. Real scenario:

I work at a women’s health clinic, and we have a VERY good interpreter service for our hearing impaired patients. There have been any number of times the interpreter has checked in with me to suggest another wording of instructions or the consent forms, when it was obvious the patient was not getting the gist. They

I was brought up in the Unitarian Universalist church, and I went through the OWL sex ed course in middle school. We went over EVERYTHING, from how to put a condom on to how to prevent STIs, how to have safe gay and straight sex, (including Q&As with gay members of the congregation, both in and out of the closet in

Politics is never easy. Just a word of caution regarding Chris Adele: he has spent a lot of time working for Milwaukee’s LGBTQIA community, lots of projects for the protection of queer people in this city. At the same time he has made frightening strides to make himself the most powerful county executive in the state.

I try to tip a minimum of at least 50% on bar tabs, and at least 30% to delivery drivers. Delivery drivers get no more than a couple bucks for most runs they make, because it’s assumed by most that the “delivery charge” is the tip. It’s shitty, but that’s how it is. I have driver friends who’ve made $70-$90 deliveries

I work at an abortion clinic, and you would be amazed by the number of times we see anti-choice activists for abortion services. Occasionally we have even gotten one of the women (or daughter of of one of) our daily protesters. The idea of “the only good abortion is my abortion” is frankly widespread in this

I just learned how to both draw blood and place IVs at work! It’s really great, but I definitely defer to an experienced nurse if the patient has difficult veins.

Flying standby on Midwest had a lot of perks! The seats were awesome, and when the flight attendants LOVED my dad as a pilot and they would give me and my little sister all the warm leftover cookies. Like, 20 of them. A regrettable amount of deliciousness!

When I was a kid my dad was a pilot for Midwest Airlines, and yeah, we could fly “standby” for free as his immediate family. The conditions were A) if the plane was full, you would not be able to board, and B) we had to dress very nicely. My mom always made sure we had nice dresses or dress pants and blouses, and we

Just go to PPWI.org and find the donate button. It specifically asks which are you wish to donate to!

Also, if you know a woman living in rural WI, please make her aware of the QCK (pronounced quick) program. Through this program, PPWI is able to mail deliver contraceptive pills, patches, and the Nuva ring to any woman with Medicaid or state insurance in Wisconsin, especially women in rural areas, at no cost to them!

I only work at the clinic level, so the intricacies of funds distributions are a little beyond me. I’m not aware of how much goes to particular clinics.

Any little bit helps! We’ve already had to cut staff in this state, so abortion care is being provided by 2 very small staffs and wait times are abominable for our patients. The patient load we take on is also exhausting for the staff, although the burnout rate isn’t as high as you’d think. These ladies and gentlemen

I know that there have been a ton of more relevant articles to publish this to, but my phone seems to die every time I find one.
