but ultimately his words do not hold as much legal weight as a disclaimer agreed to by the user

Hell, he’ll have doubled his money during the 3 year wait, so it’s not like there’s a bitter pill to swallow here.

I’m not going to comment on whether it’s the driver’s fault or Tesla’s fault - I’m sure everyone else will cover that.

The survey reached EV drivers worldwide, primarily through GEVA’s 64 member organizations, or their collaborating partners.”  So they reached out to members of their pro-EV Global Alliance to show that people would buy an EV again.  This is pretty self serving data.  It would be like reaching out to a Ford truck

But speed limits are no longer enforced.

My dad used to subscribe to Consumer Reports, and I remember some of their complaints were anal to the point of ridiculousness. The one that sticks in my mind is them blasting a new model of a car because the new model took an extra crank to roll up the window (these were in olden times) than the outgoing model. I’m

Considering they’re discussing 100% and 200% tariffs, he might do more than yawn. But he’s still going to buy it.

Instead of weasel words, just be clear -

I think the 45th “and then there’s a fee for this” is what does the damage, particularly after the 44th “no” to decline whatever cash grab 5000% markup item is offered.

For me it’s signing the “We Owe” form that says “Nothing Owed, No warranty, AS-IS”, then signing the FTC that says “DEALER OFFERS NO GUARANTEE OR REPAIRS”, and then finally, the white form that says AS-IS in 4 inch tall letters, and then calling me a week later after discovering an issue.

Not sure, who overseas the DMVs currently? the department of Transportation?

If I can’t Prime it and have it show up to my door in an oversized cardboard box, with the delivery driver placing it on the /wrong/ side of the door so that I have to walk completely outside and close the door behind me before I can pick it up, then what is the point?

To be fair, this is almost exactly what I did for my last car purchase- Did everything online (it was during covid), just had to come into the dealershit to do the closing.

To be fair, that has probably happened multiple times with dealerships. And to folks who are mentally impaired, elderly folks with dementia, the list goes on.

Simplicity and ease of purchasing is fine and dandy for ordinary, day-to-day items. Items that are only a few dollars. Maybe a few hundred. Cars are different.

I am a real estate investor and got into it by renting one-off condos to residential renters.  The lease I used was very neutral and fair but was very clear and comprehensive.   We never had any overly contentious conflicts with tenants but when something came up and we cited the lease for resolution guidance, it was

I work in car sales. All too often I’ve seen customer’s eyes glaze over and space out when I’m explaining things like Sales Tax, Fees, and Interest rates, or that things we offer, like Oil Change Programs and Vehicle Service Contracts have a cost associated, and then come back after the purchase angry.  Making wild

Captain’s Log...Two Zero Two Four...point Three Four Four. On the orders of...Starfleet...I’ve...taken the...Enterprise to the....Earth...country of America to...find out who is...getting us all those...tickets!”

That’s the wrong approach to this problem in this day and age. He should have taken out the dealership owner as he was leaving a dealer conference.
