I’m not a pilot.  But this description sounds like a plane that is technically flyable, but not landable.  No communcation or navigation or instruments and flying in a thunderstorm, so no visuals either.

It looks fine, but these are really bothering me

“That’s not a jeep, it’s not nearly rusty enough”

this doesn’t mean that military pilots should eject at the first possible sign of trouble

The pilot incorrectly diagnosed an out-of-controlled flight emergency and ejected from a flyable aircraft, albeit during a heavy rainstorm compounded with aircraft electrical and display malfunctions.””

Not a pilot, but man I tell you what if ‘ol Sully had been there he would have landed that damned thing backwards, upside down in a tornado and not put a scratch on it, the hopped out and kissed a baby. LOL

Gone...in a minute or so.

I’m really surprised Ferrari hasn’t sued to have it destroyed lol.

It’s really really admirable that the 1977 electronics continue to work, and that there are NASA engineers who are still capable of manipulating this 1977 electronics!.

Am I the only one who saw it?

The Jalopnik staff have no control over the ads that display here.

Firefox + NoScript add on.  Takes some time to get it configured properly, but it eliminates most ads, and even gets past a lot of paywalls.  That’s what I use for regular browsing on my phone and PCs, then I have a Chrome for real stuff that I trust without worrying about the hundred scripts each site tries to run.

Crowdfunding is a thing and there are risks involved. I sort of agree with you, but they took down a bunch of people who really should have known better. It’s not like this was craven payday loans with unbearable interest exploiting the most desperate. These were toys for people who’ll drop a million on something

It’s like crowdfunding for obscenely wealthy people.  Not gonna shed a single tear over this.

Deposits on good that don’t exist should not be legal. If there is a real good to be delivered, then sure. But, if it is a “coming soon” product, they should have to just a regular waiting list OR if they need the money to develop the product, term it as a loan or something.

Voyager 1 finally calls home, drunk and broke. “Hey guys, sorry, my phone battery like must have died or something. Yeah, I had to borrow this old phone to call you. So like, can you send some money? I’ll give you an address. No, cash would be better, cause like uh, yeah, just send cash. I promise I’ll be home for the

Voyager 1 is traveling so fast it’s going 10.5 miles per second, so after a couple seconds of communication it’s 23 miles further.

I think you meant to say 15 billion miles from home. and 23 hours to send commands.
