We need more space (us, kid, dog, and assorted life type stuff), want something that is FUN to drive, and has the ability to tow.”

I’ve been behind the new Santa Fe and it has the ugliest rear I’ve seen in some time

Jalopnik editors have lost something over the years. I could see the old recommendations to be stuff like this

Lexus GX460.

“Yeah, they are too low.”

It’s always the workers fault. I worked for a company that managed to lose $20 million dollars. So we fired the guy that organized the warehouse. I requested forklift training. If the reason we lost $20 million was a fat dude on a Forklift, I could be a fat dude on a forklift for half of his pay and still be happy.

So a still profitable company wants to cut workers pay to make even more profit?

Cars.com has 29 new Lightnings with 100 miles of me, ranging from 56k - 86k.  (Not sure if that 56k includes the rebate.)

Well, like Brent Spiner said in Independence Day, “ You think a hammer costs $8000?”

Incorrect, it is legalized in New York City.

Here’s the bill: https://legistar.council.nyc.gov/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=6557803&GUID=7D6F4CEC-85C3-4E00-9E54-36641179493B

From the bill’s summary: “This bill would permit pedestrians to legally cross a roadway at any point, including outside of a marked or unmarked

I do a LOT of work with government entities, and every year, at the end of the year, we get a bunch of orders for shit they don’t need that will sit for YEARS, because if they don’t spend the money, they can’t keep it, and they won’t get it next year. It’s *insane*. “Use it or lose it” funding is just batshit insane.

Reality is that for ANY airplane part, a HUGE part of the price, and most of the markup over an otherwise all but identical non-airplane part, is the certification and paperwork costs.

This is normal for every Government contractor. I work for one, and It isn’t necessarily the fault of the contractor as to why costs are the way they are. The Customer (Government) has requirements for every single thing they buy, and a lot of engineering, testing, and inspections go into whatever they are buying. I

Pretty much this. If you don’t spend it one year you lose it the next. It’s a shit show.

If only Boeing had experience in making high volumes of commercial passenger aircraft with multiple lavs per plane servicing hundreds of passengers per flight. Perhaps then, they could have used the knowledge and experience gained from that endeavor to equip the C17 lavs with proven designs for soap dispensers.

Awe you must be new here lol. THIS is how government contracts work, unless you spend every penny then you can’t ask for more money next time. It’s how you get the $500 toilet seats people have joked about since the 80's. We are dealing with it right now with TxDOT grant money. They are adding medians EVERYWHERE in

Government contracting is a science in and of itself. This fiscal year’s encumbered funds gets a slight mark-up for the next fiscal. Rinse and repeat.

Not sure if serious.gif

WTF is wrong with people? I hope the dipshits who did this fall off a bridge and are need of a medivac that won’t happen because this chopper is grounded.

Literally millions and millions of people who love cruising can’t all be wrong, regardless of what you kids think. Not my idea of a good time, but my sainted mother LOVES cruising. She is much too cheap to spring for a room with a private hot tub.
