I think we can safely say that Hülkenbergs F1 career is truly over now, unless Williams does a U-turn on Russell’s replacement.
Did Bottas not win enough in a pretty unbeatable Merc? Yes. Did he have an opportunity to win? Not really.
“Bottas is not a championship caliber driver” does NOT mean “I am a better driver than him”
Williams has a Mercedes supply deal until at least 2025, I believe. Seems like they want Albon, but Wolff doesn’t want a Red Bull driver in a Mercedes powered car, and Red Bull doesn’t want to release a driver who was involved in their car development in order for him to go to a Mercedes powered team.
I don't think you can get the pitchforks out for Bradley, that is a statement of fact.
At the beginning, Haas was a mid-field team before (probably related to mismanagement) their fall into mediocrity. Grosjean and Magnussen are good in IMSA and Indycar right now. I doubt Verstappen could elevate Haas, but they still don’t deserve Mazepin.
I wasn’t even that negative on him in this piece. What’s your fucking problem?
Lawrence Stroll is a major owner of Aston Martin itself. I would hope he didn’t buy a car company so his kid could drive, but if he did he’s a bigger idiot than I imagined.
The difference is that Mazepin is racing for Haas, which means he’s not even racing an F1 car, so it sucks that he’s on the grid, but he’s in the team that deserves him, and vice versa.
Compared to Maze(s)pin, Stroll has actually done far better than anyone could have expected of a rich kid whose daddy bought him his race seat.
He’s *fine* but I’d rather see someone else get a fair shot in that seat. That team needs a serious talent, and Vettel is past it.
Yes, he has had 5 years. But everytime they gave a order he followed it. And yes i think he will never and better said had never any ability to win from Lewis. But you have being a second driver or pretty much bowing out everytime hamiliton needs a win. And yes i get its a part of racing. Just a waste of talent etc.…
Perez has been the best option Red Bull has had since Ricciardo, starting to think it’s as much a team issue as dricer one though. I’ve generally thought Perez has had a good year and has been a strong teammate more often than not. Screwing up the timing of your qualifying lap is at least partially a team call and…
I think Bottas came in thinking he was going for the fasted lap - and maybe that was the thought until Hamilton was told to come in to also set the fast lap — but i thought once Bottas exited that Mercedes made clear he was not to try for a fast lap. He was going to do it anyway until he was explicitly told to abort..
long as max and lewis keep it clean i dont care which one wins
Agreed about the onboard laps… that looks absolutely insane.
Kimi can finally have the drink. I just watched a Youtube video of all the best Kimi lines! He’ll always be my favourite modern day driver for his character and zero f*cks given attitude!
His was a unique personality in F1, probably in all of racing, and it will be a little less colorful next year. He’ll be fine, but he’ll also be missed.
I’d rather see Mick Schumacher go to Alpha than Bottas, but it sounds like it is a done deal.
