I agree he doesn’t have the charisma, but one thing he is better then Shatner at is showing just how tactical and intelligent Kirk is. So to me it’s a bit of a wash.
Haven’t had a chance to watch the new episode yet, but Chapel definitely looks in a good mood in that screenshot.
Her connection is that “the photograph wasn’t locked down so she stole it”
Am I missing something or is her “collection of NFTs” one NFT?
The question is, do they get this HD release right this time? It was one of the first shows to embrace filming in wide aspect in its day. And while the last remaster was sharp-ish, it was also pan and scan. Is it possible we’ll get to see the whole thing in its proper full screen aspect ratio now? If so, I might…
SNW is doing an upcoming crossover episode with lower decks, where lower deck characters “hilariously” appear in SNW as real people
Spock and Chapel don’t have to end up together to learn from each other or affect their characters in a meaningful way. Sometimes the journey is the destination.
I mostly enjoyed the episode, though as stated in the review, it was something we’ve seen before several times.
Ain’t your thing apparently. Consider that they are not trying to get Spock/Chapel together so much as they are building the backstory of WHY T’Pring would literally try and get Spock killed in Amok Time.
I want Sevet and Pike to quietly become best buds, keeping in touch and getting together when they can, but I also want that to entirely happen in the background, with no one drawing attention to it in any way.
Disclaimer: I think Gia Sandhu’s T’Pring is one of the best portrayed characters on SNW. She nails the Ice Queen we saw in Amok Time while adding enough “humanity” (gulp) that we can relate to the character. I enjoy Ethan Peck’s Spock. And Anson Mount is the most relatable captain I’ve seen in a long time.
Really?
T’Pring is such a joy.
I love the little detail of Chapel demanding that Ortegas and Uhura turn around while she professed her love of Spock despite them being the ones who were pushing her to finally just say it out loud *and* the fact that it was a verbal declaration so it didn’t matter if they were looking or not.
I appreciate that SNW isn’t for you, and that’s totally fair. I even agree with you somewhat about your concerns regarding Chapel’s character. And I’m being a bit tongue-in-cheek here...but if you think Star Trek has never been about characters being horny for each other, then I question whether you ever watched any…
I really loved the moment, late in the episode, when Mount is bring a tray of something or other over the others, and something else happens that clearly raises the tension in the room, and he silently adjusts his course and ends up just looping back to his kitchen.
He was clearly the “fun parent”
Based on the episode description, I was hoping for more Vulcan Hijinks...and it did not disappoint!
I really love Gia Sandhu’s portrayal of T’Pring, and I was over the moon that Mia Kirshner came back as Amanda. I also absolutely loved Sevet; T’Pring’s dad is such a lovable goofball, and I would love to see more of him.
