I’m not sure why “larger” is better when it comes to “small” cars? Why would you get a big small car?
I’ve had 5 Saabs. When I lived down South, and even in LA, nobody knew what they were. Admittedly they were dead for about 5 years at that point.
Because the old M240i had the B58 turbo-6, while this has the B48 turbo-4. And it now aligns with the X2 M35i. I know the numbers don’t make any sense, but that’s the reasoning.
I dunno, up here in Boston and the surrounding well off suburbs, you still see plenty of original allroads. And E-Class wagons, Volvo Cross Countrys (and especially XC70s) aren’t as hard to come by as you’d think. I think I’ve only see two XF Sportbrakes, though.
Calm down whiny non-binarys. It’s 2019, not 2059. You’re adopted kids’ kids’ will villify this, as we do with 1950s off the cuff commentary.
2.) Most people don’t know what you have.
My 64 year old father still thinks all 80s/90s Radwood era cars will NEVER be worth anything close to the late 60s/early 70s muscle cars. I dunno.. lots of people my age (early 30s) have money, and want to buy these kinds of cars from their childhood. They first saw them on Gran Turismo in 1997, and now have the means…
That chocolate interior is yummy! Not sold on the wheels though, they look like they’ve chipped or been peeled, even though I know that’s how they’re supposed to look.
BMW makes 18. 21 if you account for the manual transmission option on the M240i and M4s.
I don’t see these getting any cheaper. And with the whole desire for “analogue” cars now, how many others have a manual/V12 combo? Especially at $40k? 599 GTB and 612 Scaglietti manuals are only getting more expensive.. As in half a million dollars more expensive.
Agreed, the chrome classed up the Alpinas over their BMW M counterparts. The previous B3 (and D3) looked much better. There may be a way to add the chrome back, just like how BMW can let you add black “Shadowline” trim.
The screenshots also show a the launch engines in the 110 as the P400 I6 and the D240 diesel. (Both metic PS ratings). A 400 hp Defender sure sounds interesting..
I agree, I think the Model S can be, and most likely is, a daily driver or primary car for most buyers.
Having just a “Turbo” now doesn’t even top of the range. Now it has to have an S after it to make it special. Same with Carreras, and 63-AMGs.
I won’t argue it’s load carrying capacity, the Model S has the Taycan beat.
In that spec (white, with the white accented wheels) that thing looks so good.
