This was so close to a really good joke and then you had to keep writing. So close.

He’s just emphasizing the importance of a nuclear family.
An emotional rollercoaster. 5 Stars.
This doesn’t even make sense without the horrible double entendre! You need lots of different people’s permissions to hold a football game.
Bring unused or expired Rx prescriptions for safe disposal to Colts Camp. Especially oxycodone. Do you have any oxycodone? Do you know anyone who does? Could you hook us up with him?
Asked whether fans could trust him to dispose of all those drugs, Irsay said he would do his best to deliver.
Whatever, Samer. At least they’re helping me get rid of my old Ed Hardy shirts too.
How is the trunk of Irsay’s car considered “safe disposal”?
I laughed at this because it’s an excellent way to put it.
I think the smart thing to do would be to offer fan experiences that appeal to groups of fans using breakdowns other than stereotypical gender definitions. For example, events for new fans, or family-friendly events, or events for hard-core fans, etc... Women may be in any of these groups (as may be men - I’m sure…
They can dare all they want. But if they want it to be effective this maybe isn’t the best approach, especially since it may alienate a good portion of that same demographic.
Where I consider it to be condescending is when you look at the “for women” lines of sports memorabilia and realize it’s mostly low-cut necks and pink/glittery.
Have you read comments on internet sports websites? Do you read things by sports columnists? Have you ever sat next to a guy in a bar talk about “hustle” or “intangibles” or “chemistry”? It’s pretty clear that men have a real shitty understanding of sports.
Second, I’m curious how you think a team might actually go about trying to be more inclusive of female fans without offending them.
I wonder how long it’ll take pro-sports to realize the best way to optimize the gameday experience for women will be to just recognize that women typically love sports for the same reasons as men.
It’s cool that all the attempts to get women into football seem to start with the premise that there is no chance women will actually like football.
And really, what better team to lead the charge for bringing in new female NFL fans than the one who just drafted Jameis Winston and whose most famous defensive player is Warren Sapp?
After the team won the cup in 2010, I was out with some friends and my girlfriend at the time. Kane came to the bar we were at, sprayed everyone with beer, and as he was walking out, my girlfriend and her friends ran into him. They asked if they could get a picture with him, at which point he stopped, looked them up…
