Aren’t you uniquely wise and enlightened in your determination to focus only on yourself and deride people who actually try to make things better for everyone.

Why do people feel the need to devil’s advocate every goddamn thing? Just say what you actually think.
No one who says ‘I hate to be that guy’ ever hesitates to be that guy.
At one point, when talking about his confusion about sabermetrics, he said “I know more about David Eckstein than Albert Einstein.” I swear I am not making that quote up.
What exactly do you think is preventing sexual predators from doing this now? Their immense respect for the rule of law?
Well, sure, but from Yunel Escobar, who hits into a lot of double plays, and not from Rendon, who does not. So Williams was still very wrong..
Hell, people probably would’ve laughed at it even 5 years ago.
He repeatedly touched her inappropriately, without her consent. That is not legal.
I was on a flight next year sitting next to a serious problem drinker on a flight with free alcohol. Theoretically they were only supposed to give you one drink, but he made enough of a fuss that he got two cans of beer, a cup of whiskey, and a cup of whiskey mixed with beer within 15 minutes. It was about at that…
If you think the purpose of movie reviews is to affect how well they do at the box office, you have somehow wildly misunderstood them. They’re pieces of criticism that stand on their own to discuss what the reviewer thinks of the movie. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. That’s all they’re supposed to do.
I don’t think it’s a silly rule, personally - if the results of the sport are to have any real meaning, then we all need to be able to trust that they have integrity. It’s sad how common this remarkably dim-witted argument is.
That is an absolutely hysterical overreaction. No one wants blood. People said, ‘uh that’s kind of fucked up,’ the event was cancelled and the team apologized, and it’ll likely be completely forgotten inside of 3 months.
Rosé is great and I support people drinking it. But ‘brosé’ is absolutely unacceptable and must be stopped now.
Yeah, by all account this was the rare year where there was no clear-cut #1 overall talent to select.
I’ve always figured they prevented trading picks at least partly to ensure that teams keep up the appearance of trying in the draft instead of taking a cheap-out opportunity. You just know some team like the Marlins would be like “I have to pay a top #5 pick *how* much? Fuck this, I’m trading down.”
What do you think that audiences have changed so much in 10 years that these explanations are actually necessary and not a result of clumsy writing?
If you think players don’t have brief complaints about strike calls in every goddamn game, you know literally nothing about baseball
Craig was moved because he’s pretty much done after the foot injuries yet still owed a fair amount of money and they found someone willing to take on the contract, I’d imagine. No mystery there.
I don’t know where Cubs fans could’ve gotten a reputation for being wrongly smug...
