Clippers players also can’t be released by the team immediately with a guaranteed salary. Two different leagues. Two very different player contract issues.

This could’ve been a way better joke, with better structure, and less possibility of people taking offense (since of course you don’t have to be a man to get on a woman). You should have gone with “Wow, this fight was so much like my sex life... I start in on a woman, it’s thrilling, and over in 34 seconds.”
This is precisely the point. The “reasonable” explanation is something every coach on the planet would be guilty of, making Chip’s players’ airing of grievances even less common if something isn't up.
I’m sure if audio leaked to the public of Kelly saying anything remotely close to what Sterling said, and the whole damn country heard it and was outraged by it like they were with Sterling, they sure as hell would.
How dare them continue to follow a reasonably high profile story with a short update. Definitely getting het up about it isn't REALLY FUCKING TELLING.
Wait. Deadspin reporting on how a couple of pretty good professional football players have hinted that Chip has issues with black people is an agenda? Or that some of the players let go definitely didn’t get the Eagles fair market value?
I known right? Why if they had just spoken up while with the Eagles, they surely wouldn’t be immediately cut. No, football teams can’t react like that...
Acting on that discomfort? Yeah...
Uh, the guy is a pro football coach. If adult black males give him the willies to the point he dumps them for pennies on the dollar, even though he needs dozens of them to succeed in his chosen profession, it’s a fair question to ask.
I guess they should’ve gone with “Rhonda Rousey Steps into Octagon - AND THEN SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPENS!”

The level of competition Serena faces is far higher level than Rousey does. That’s no insult to Rousey. It’s just that women’s tennis is much older and much more advanced than women’s MMA right now.
Simple answer? No. Comparative to current competiton? Sure. Her available opponents are so lackluster and noncompetitive that it casts her high-level talents in an otherworldly light. Should women’s MMA continue to progress and gain traction and eventually recruit dedicated women’s MMA fighters I think she will be…
No, it’s not merely about bigger numbers. But I do think that numbers matter. I mean, if we’re going to say that all you have to do is win a perfect 11 fights in your career, and win them in dominant fashion, and suddenly you’re more dominant than a woman who’s won 720+ tennis matches, and has 22 titles notched in her…
I don’t get the “most dominant (female) athlete in history” narrative that people spew about Rousey. She is great! She’s a totally impressive athlete who currently dominates in her specific field! But we’re still talking about somebody with only 11 fights to her name. Putting her on the same level as an athlete like…
Well duh, anybody can win a fight when they’re moving four times faster than a normal human.
Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or get knocked out by Ronda Rousey in 5 seconds?
Only in my own bathroom, or one of my friend’s bathrooms, or on a stoop anywhere within 30 miles.
“One down, nobody on, bottom of the fifth here at Busch Stadium, as Deadspin Commenter steps up to the plate.”
And now I understand why it’s called a restroom.
