Exactly. I make well into six figures—in fact, many K-12 teachers in my area make six figures—but I live in an extremely high cost of living region, so it’s not as if I’m living the kind of lifestyle I would have imagined when I was 20 or 25 if you told me I’d eventually be at this income level.

I have two daughters and people always seem shocked by my answer whenever this question comes up. Apparently, when asked if you have a favorite child, you’re expected to choose one of your own.

The plastics industry and the food service industry (almost any industry, really) will not change in a way that could negatively impact their bottom line unless forced to by consumers or regulators.

Finally digging into The Water Dancer. It’s been on my shelf for a while, but I’ve been reading mostly non-fiction for the last year or so.
