Still haven’t eaten in a restaurant, but my first outdoor dining on the restaurant patio rather than takeout was tacos, chips and guacamole, and mezcal margaritas. And, in fact, that’s sounding mighty tasty right now. I may go back tonight!

My favorite cussing moment with my kids came when my daughter was four and I said something then said “Sorry, I shouldn’t say that in front of you. Please don’t repeat that.” She said “It’s okay daddy, I already know all the bad words.” Then I gave her a get-out-of-jail-free card to share with me all the bad words she…
1. I had never heard of this podcast before, but I’ll be checking it out now. Sounds like right up my alley. Thanks.
Of all of Wes Anderson’s films, this looks like it may be the Wes Andersoniest.
The Clap Back Mailbag is going to be on fire this week...
Anyone who has mezcal, cynar, sherry, and Peychaud’s on hand is someone after my own heart. Please let me know what you think...
Tobacco Road. It’s 1.5 oz mezcal, 1.25 oz cynar, 0.5 oz sherry, and a couple dashes of Peychaud’s. It’s certainly not for everyone and was for a cocktail party where we had four rounds of cocktails that started very accessible and easy for anyone (fruity and sweet) and got progressively more adventurous. I was tasked…
The best graduation gift now, as always, is cash.
I bought a bottle of cynar for a specific drink a while back and have been slowly working my way through it. It has a strong flavor and can take over a drink if you’re not careful, and it doesn’t pair well with a lot of common spirits, so it’s been pretty slow going, but I will have to give this a try.
I got blocked by the official Skittles Facebook page for a long, profanity-laced rant I posted when they replaced lime with apple...haha. I’m going to keep an eye out for these. Lime is the best flavor, green apple is the worst. These are facts and I can prove them on a home computer.

I didn’t even consider that. It makes sense though. He’s probably a robot.
It was the one thing he had that was all his own. He didn’t have to share it with his wife or kids. He’s probably been sneaking off to get a taco, or stopping by on his way back from the store or other errand (“Really? Was I gone a long time? I don’t know...I hit a bunch of red lights, maybe that was it?”), but now…
Pizza pockets.
Maybe. But it shouldn’t. I can see why the employer might want to keep salaries secret if they are underpaying some employees doing the same work as someone else making more, but the employees aren’t (or at least shouldn’t be) in competition with one another. They should be in solidarity making sure everyone is being…
I’m a public employee in a state that has very liberal government transparency laws, so anyone who knows my name and where I work can find my salary from any of a dozen sources with two minutes and Google. Also, because I’m an administrator, our board is required to actually read out my name, job title, and salary…
The effort was pretty minimal. A double boiler may be handy, but I didn’t even use that and instead just used a small pot inside a larger pot when should have used a double boiler. Ingredients are relatively cheap and it’s easy to experiment and try different stuff without spending much. If you’re interested, give it…
Whatever cash I happen to have around the house.
Sure, but not liking a mustard is different than not liking mustard.
I can’t actually remember the last time I had ketchup without adding hot sauce to it.
