I dual boot Ubuntu 10.10 and XP on my system. For several months in Ubuntu I would get the update notice anytime I was on the web that would alert me to a new Ubuntu update. I kept postponing an update, figuring I could do it some day when I had more time. I didn't realize that if you let your Ubuntu get too out of

@MaxellDVD1 thanks for the site.

@mnerd Thanks for the tip. I have never heard of this site before.

Really low, maybe $300.

My laptop is dying, and as far as cost goes, a netbook looks like the likely replacement. I know netbooks do not perform as well as real laptops, but can anyone share with me their own detailed experiences? Right now I use my laptop minimally for playing music through iTunes and Banshee (I dual boot), some old

Foil hats make me think of fringes, which makes think...don't forget the 4 edges! Very thin but just as "sidey" as shiny and matte!

Pardon this re-post from last week, but I got no takers and I still need help.

A question for all you Banshee users. I am using version 2.2.1 in Ubuntu 10.10 (dual boot with XP). Every time I reboot the computer into Ubuntu and open Banshee I need to rescan my music library. If I try to play a song I will get silence and that dreaded "X" next to the song. To play a song I need to rescan it

Happy Friday, one and all!

@Johann Schmidt I didn't even know there was such a thing as a Microsoft store. I'll have to see if there are any nearby.

Happy Friday all! It is finally nice and cold here in Western PA—my time of year!

I know everyone might be using different color palettes, but when I read through the open thread I see black text against a white background. I notice most comments are black text, but some are a faded grey text. What is the significance of the grey coloring? Have I uncovered some secret Gawker plot?
